Orienteering 1:30:00 [3]

Lakeside Weekend - Claife Heights

Shadowed an M14 from the South West squad. Focused on finding good route choices and attckpoints and then being acurate and more careful into the control. Also on height judgement on the slopes. Thought he did really well, better than i would ever have done at 14.
Thought the area seemed similarish to some of the JWOC areas i've seen maps of, so was good to have a run in some steep terrain and to be forced to keep map contact. I actually navigated way better than normal becuase i didn't switch off! I think i'll pretend i'm shadowing someone next event!

Then complained with Stu about how cold we were! Collected in the controls and actually thought i was going to die when this HUGE dog came charging at me with its fangs out. I have never been so scared in all my life! This little girl was screaming for her dad that it was going to attack me and i was just stood there stupidly holding a control. If he hadn't come it would have actually biten me. Was really shaken up after that and had a teary moment after legging back to the car faster than i ever have run in my life!!

Note
(injured)

foot pain is back :( very very concerned that it is something more serious than i first though

Orienteering 2:30:00 [3]

Lakeside Weekend - Home Fell

Early start out hanging controls with Hector and Stu. Was a good warm up and i found it really good because you had to actually find the feature and be confident of it not just look for a kite. Put out 8 controls and was really pleased i didn't get confused!!

Shadowed Alice F round a long legs course up the fell, and then Kirsty round the same course. Was knackered! Interesting to see their different route choices and the fact that i had to stay in contact with the map as a coach really made me concentrate. Analysing the legs and best route choices/attack points was good. I like coaching :)
Then ran back to the top of the fell and found Abi so followed her for a few controls.

I'm not really sure how far i ran, but did lots of climbing up hills!

Orienteering 45:00 [3]

Lakeside weekend - Tarn Howes

Shadowed a NorthEast person round a course here and got the chance to do some proper coaching becasue he was a bit unsure on a few legs. Tried to be really encouraging and he definately got better and out sprinted me at the end! We worked on having a plan and then trying to be smooth through the leg and not hesitate too much. Also to look up once you reach the attackpoint to identify the features. Was really good.

Then me and stu went for a walk over to the other side and found a few controls but was pretty exhausted by this point! Went to slep for an hour when i got back to the youth hostel!

Orienteering race 17:45 [4] 1.5 km (11:50 / km)

Lakeside Ultrasprint Night Relay -

Can't really explain this one it was just madness. Scale of 1:1500, the whole map was only 200m across! There were butterflys and i just got so confused at which direction to run in because it was foggy and i couldn't see a thing and there were people everywhere fighting to punch because it was a mass start and it was gaffled! The controls were just on the floor, no flags, at the base of tree trunks in a forest! it was crazy, i didn't get why some trees were mapped as distinctive it all looked the same and i overshot everything! ended up flat out on the floor when Josh decided that i was apparently in his way so he'd shove me over to get to a control before me (but i still beat him :]) took 1:30 on a 20m leg because i ran about 100m without realising and was just punching every control i found lol. Was really fun but i think i could have done a lot better!!

Stretching 1:00:00 [3]

Did some leg work today and it was really hard. I have no strength and no flexibility at all! Infact the only thing i'm any good at is the running part!

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2]

Did 20minutes of jogging and drills and some stretching afterwards.

Running intervals 5:31 [5] 1.45 km (3:48 / km)

Decided that as i was pushed for time i'd give my old sprint loop a go. Is basically the shortest loop around my streets and just go run all out. Took 5 seconds off my best ever time so that must be good, but i really felt quite slow and cold. My lungs hurt from the cold air....nasty feeling!

Running tempo 42:00 [3] 7.9 km (5:19 / km) +10m 5:17 / km

Couldn't get to running club so went for a fast run round Hambleton. Did 2 and a half loops of the village. Was really boring, but i ran for longer than i thought i had. Did some different speed stuff to try and keep it interesting, like sprinting for 2 lamposts and stuff like that.

S&C 30:00 [2]

Did about 20mins of core and then just couldn't be bothered :(
Did some stretching too becasue my shoulders and back were really tight.
I think i have sleep deprivation! i am so tired all the time,

Note
(rest day)

Went for my TASS induction meeting, it's just annoying that it's in Leeds and hard to get to because they are offering me such beneficial things.

Got stressed out over revision, seriously!! how much work does college want to give me. And then i had to try and sort out UCAS form and go driving!!!

No time for core at all. Will try and fit it in tomorrow.
