Off-road running 59:22 [3] 11.8 km (5:02 / km) +20m 4:59 / km
ahr:150 max:177 rhr:55 slept:7.0 (sick) shoes: Asics Sonoma

Lode loop anti-clockwise - another cold, cloudy & still morning. Felt snotty and leg dead - elevated heart rate too. Sensible call not to attempt the County XC. Ran easy - with Sarah (bike) and Cocoa.

Cycling 1:48:23 [3] 44.0 km (2:28 / km) +113m 2:26 / km
ahr:136 max:163 rhr:49 slept:8.0

Lovely ride on a cold & cloudy but still day. Feeling effects of cold so took it nice and relaxed - Lode, Bott, Fen D, Cambridge (for bread & papers etc) back via Cherry H, Fulbourn and the Wilbrahams.

Note
slept:7.3 (sick) (rest day)

Felt unwell and tired - even after a better night's sleep, so abandoned planned swim session.

Cycling warm up/down 44:08 [2] 11.46 km (3:51 / km) +35m 3:48 / km
slept:5.1

Reach loop with Sarah as warm up and village loop afters as warm down.

Cycling tempo 27:33 [5] 12.47 km (2:13 / km) +23m 2:11 / km
ahr:144 max:172 rhr:47

Lode loop (anti-clockwise) as a time-trial. It's a great course - and today there was quite a bit of mud on Upware Rd. Misjudged the bridge (and rode onto the grass)... intricate around Lode too. It was cold (3C) and a little North wind lowering the temp further. One to do regularly.

ahr:139 max:170 slept:6.5 shoes: Asics Sonoma

Lode & CR51 in reverse from yesterday (clockwise) with Sarah & Doglet. Lovely crisp morning - right hammy a bit tight by end.

Note

Reflections on 2018: it was a challenging start to the year, personally and professionally, and then following a more settled period, a house move and getting used to a shared home again. It was the lowest volume of training since I started using Attackpoint a decade ago, so no surprises that my fitness is correspondingly poor! There has clearly been a pick up since September and I've found the best of training partners who runs at whatever speed I fancy, never complains about injuries and is always happy to see me. 2019 will be (hopefully) different... already loving the Garmin.
11 AM

Off-road running 58:47 [3] 11.78 km (4:59 / km) +24m 4:56 / km
ahr:138 max:159 rhr:50 slept:8.0 shoes: Asics Sonoma

New loop - up Upward Rd and left following CR 51 to Lode and back via the path and Grange Farm. I ran as much as possible on the verges and grass - with Doglet and Sarah on bike. Lovely start to 2019.

12 PM

Running 41:33 [3] 9.14 km (4:33 / km) +24m 4:29 / km
ahr:150 max:176 rhr:37

Reach loop with Sarah (on the bike) and Cocoa... moving well - though felt a bit rough (sneezing a few times and spluttering too). Left calf started tightening at one point so pulled back on the tempo. A good finish to 2018.
