River run loop with Dylan - along the river first n back via LT. Wrong way today as the wind was very strong along the Ouse. Felt tired n leg sore from yesterday, plus back has been tender as well. Still, things eased out at this relaxed pace.

City Race - 7.0K (23 controls): took it very steady at first and even stopped at number 1 to look ahead to 2 and 3 which worked as was clean to both. Got confused coming out of 3 n lost about 40 seconds going nowhere into a housing estate; next legs were all about running, running and running; felt surprisingly dead legged again, like last Sunday, n should have been much stronger. No slips until missing v slightly the steps up into the Barbican on way to 20 (was reading map for 20-21, 21-22, 22-23). Good to 21 and picked up the direct route. For some reason didnt spot the lower route to 23 (and forgot I'd walked past the entry there by the church on way to the start!) and so went back up n over through the arcade, losing another 40 seconds? Overall, a steady but not spectacular run.

First day with kids back - gave 6 assemblies, break n lunch duty and a staff meeting after-school which left me fairly knackered... no matter how long you do this work, the speed of acceleration is pretty dramatic... from nothing to everything in one day.

From College down to the station (with an extension via Barnabas Road) n then home at t'other end. Legs sore n battered but relaxed n felt ok in self.
