Run 40:00 [3] 5.0 mi (8:00 / mi)

Ran to Echo Park to the NNE and then looped around the lake, and then came back. Had to stop every quarter mile or so for the crosswalks and that got annoying fast. Anyways, it was nice to get out.

Note

woke up late in the morning; didnt want to go run and rationalized it with the fact that I dont want to worsten my sunburn. So I resolved to run after dinner. The problem is dinner didnt happen till after 10pm, which made it unsafe to run. shame on me.

Run warm up/down 35:00 [3] 4.5 mi (7:47 / mi)

Was running through the city to get to Pershing Plaza, and as a result of the traffic signals I was zigging and zagging the entire time, which was kinda fun until I really needed to go straight, which meant that I was stopping and starting quite often.

Funny part about running in LA is that I ran in front of cameras; one was a news crew who actually stopped me and asked if I was running in the race on Sunday; not knowing what he was talking about, I just politely said no I wont be. He then asked me where I was from and I told him Racine WI, and then he said "Lets here it for the runner from Wisconsin!" and said thank you sir and ran off. (now that I think about it, I should have told him I was an Orienteer, and then let him ask questions about our sport-- oh well.) ***Note- I found out that I had run past news crews reporting on Angels Flight being re-opened. I had no idea what was going on. **

Thinking I was done with cameras for the run, I kept running and was forced down a side street by one of the traffic lights, which looked normal but had a bunch of trailers in the area. Turns out they were putting together a set and would be filming soon because the cameras were on their rails and the camera man was standing by (I didnt see anyone famous though, just that the name of the cafe was the LA Cafe and it had a yellow awning.
