running 54:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

Lovely cool clear morning for a run around Burra (south to cemetery, north through town and up over the mine hill, back along Smelts Rd to Paxton Sq) before spending a couple of hours with the Thomases at Mt Bryan consuming tea & scones & getting information about other landowners, then Zara & Craig C & I spent the afternoon touring potential HH sites.

Jeez it's horrendously dry out the back of Hallett - wish I'd seen Wonna Creek properly flowing with Tuesday night's rain though. Also, I've never been attacked by a willy-willy before - saw the dust devil coming over the hill when I got out of the car to open a gate, and got caught up in it about 20 sec later. The ferocious vortex hammered me with gravel for a couple of minutes, then moved on as quickly as it had come. I'm still cleaning dust out of my ears!

Not sure why this felt a bit lopsided?

Redwoods run with Zara/Callum, and Bridget for a bit. Nice evening for it but legs weren't enthused.

Suburban run, mulling over the fact that the largest landowner for our potential ARC 2020 area has told us that their insurer advised them not to let anyone else on their land...

Not sure how this is going to work if people aren't going to stop for stretching, because I am basically rigid for the first 20 min of any run :( Impressed that Lucy made it all the way up to Deep View without stopping though! From 3rd falls (flowing better than last week) I decided to go up to Norton Summit Rd because legs (adductors unhappy from weekend) weren't ready for the pain of descending just yet, and then coming down from Pretty Corner I had to go very slowly because the singletrack was even more washed out than usual after yesterday's rain.

Goodness, this felt like hard work...started off as a Cliff Young shuffle, got a bit better but then I came up behind another lady and didn't want to spook her by overtaking, so slowed down again.

running (Bridgewater) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-2000

First Bridgie run of the summer! Quite a big group was going all the way to Mylor but I joined the 'shorter' option because I was a bit worried about neuroma. Some nice singletrails, and a few doublings-back for Sarah (who's in the throes of year 12 exams). Definitely worth getting up for and I did well to make it to Bridgewater by 8:02 after waking at 7:29 :)
