From the YHA on Wellington St east towards Claisebrook Cove (scene of the 2003 ASC Galaxy sprint, back when sprints were a novelty) then across the Swan river, past the new stadium and the $80 million footbridge which is still being built for the second time, back across Heirisson Island and up the hill from the waterfront near Barrack St.

Such an absolutely glorious morning that I really didn't want to then spend the day indoors chairing a L3 controllers' workshop but I think it went pretty well and certainly the Thai dinner G & I had afterwards with Richard & Nicole in Subiaco was excellent.

Unfortunately no time for a swim this morning and it had seemed like a very long day by the time G & I got to Perth but 'twas still early enough to head out among the hordes into Northbridge in search of ice cream. I don't have to go to work for one whole week :)

Redwoods run, up & over the hill at the far end, with Zara/Callum. Legs a bit sore still from Tues but time goes quickly when you're chatting! Now to pack for a week in WA :)

Pyramid intervals around the uni loop with the group - 200, 400, 600, 600, 400, 200 and then for some reason I did a few more 200s. In other news, Bridget says she's going to teach me to do a push-up. We didn't set a timeframe for this potential achievement...

The flatter part of the forest, with mostly good running that was soft underfoot, although a few low-vis patches where some people came unstuck. I tried to run hard and was limited mostly by my own fitness and also by a 3-minute mistake on an earthmound in vague green where I misread the subtle contours. Enjoyed this, though, and wasn't as far behind the junior girls as I'd thought I'd be. Now am a bit sad that there are no forest races in SA between now and the June long weekend, but should get some terrain practice doing Aust Champs stuff - we went and planned arena layout today.
