swimming 35:00 [3] 1.0 km (35:00 / km)

Very lactic legs to start with, probably because of a few nights' running in the heat. Also the pool was a bit like soup - unfortunately not gazpacho.
*waits for the Red Dwarf fans to manifest their AP presence*

orienteering (Goodwood SS) 57:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

The Cazzolato Clan had made a brand new map centred around the swimming pool (which is technically in Forestville but it's next to Goodwood train station and belongs to Unley Council) and with enlargements of various schools and reserves on the back, including Orphanage Park (I was just thinking last Friday this could be a good area for sprintervals). Pity it was a rather warm evening and they didn't get the attendance which was deserved. I jogged around (time does not include stops at drink fountains) gradually realising that even though it was a 1:7500 map, to get all 20 controls would be quite a long way. In the end I sort-of accidentally left out the 3 which were closest together, along the shopping strip.

There was juicy watermelon afterwards, and a sausage sizzle, so I took a snag-in-bread home for Geoff, primarily in order to see the look of pure envy on the dog's face!

running (Belair) 40:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2000-4

All day at work I was holding out to myself the promise of a cool(er) green run along the valley, and I managed to talk Zara into a fairly casual jog to Karka & back - the wanderer butterflies were flitting in swarms around Long Gully - followed by a dip in her pool, and takeaway Indian, and playing Bananagrams, and I got home at 10pm, managing not to squash a koala which was sitting in the middle of Upper Sturt Rd...

orienteering (Port Adelaide sprinterval) 43:30 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

It was a hot evening, but I had missed the opportunity to run on Stefano's new map at The Port last summer so was looking forward to this. Tonight, Manu had put lots of virtual fences on the course and we gazed longingly at physically possible shortcuts down deserted streets while plodding the long way around, obeying the map. Some good route choice dilemmas though.

running (Shepherds Hill) 42:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2000-4

Went into Sheps and up through Eden Hills, but made very hard going of this; not coping with a warmer evening after being inside the airconditioning all day (not coping with the woman who sits across from me having a heater on under her desk, either!).

running (Belair) 1:19:30 [3] 13.0 km (6:07 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 22

With Zara (and Callum of course) from hers to the redwoods, up the singletrack to top of park, back down Queen Jubilee Drive, at chatting pace; not that my legs would have wanted to go any faster after the Mt Lofty descent yesterday. Lovely morning for it and there were juicy peaches consumed afterwards, which fortified me for an afternoon of doing twilight-rogaine setting with parents.
