swimming 35:00 [3] 1.0 km (35:00 / km)

Crowded swim on a hot morning before a day which involved attending parts A and C of Lauren & Kieran's wedding at which the only person more beautiful than the 6 bridesmaids was the bride (we were a bit sad not to be invited to part B, i.e. the formal dinner, but the Irish/bush dance afterwards made up for it, as anyone who's seen Geoff's fb video will know. Not that he himself danced of course, but Simon certainly did).

orienteering (Coromandel Valley SS) 48:00 [2]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

Struggled around all 20 controls (it was a bit hot and I was a lot buggered; I'm ashamed to say that I walked up every hill) in what was probably a suboptimal sequence but it did mean getting to go through the pleasant pine forest twice.

running (Belair) 1:24:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

Made myself go for a longer run up past the waterfalls to the top of the park (sadly no tap there any more and I was thirsty), back down via redwoods and Long Gully. Moving so slowly to start with that I was off the back of my own n=1 pack, and I thought the run would never end, but it got better once all the hills were over, and 'twas a really nice evening to be up the top of the park :)

swimming 33:00 [3] 1.0 km (33:00 / km)

I was a bit annoyed with myself on Sat when I realised I'd left my goggles behind at the pool; even if these were the ones which hated me, I'd finally managed to break them in. So I was dreading the thought of having to go through the whole painful process again (and even went to the trouble of searching through lost property before giving up and buying new ones today) but actually the replacement pair are surprisingly un-hostile.

orienteering (Bonython Park) 40:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2000-4

Sprint training, with mass start & forking, from the Torrens Weir out into Bonython Park and back along the golf course. I took a long time to warm up (actually felt better while collecting controls) and really needed to pee - but when I looked behind and saw Zara gaining on me, forgot all about my full bladder and put some effort into the last few controls.

running 31:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2000-4

I had intended a longer run on a cool evening, but earlier I was too hungry...and later I was too full of dinner.

running 45:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2000-4

Thought I slept ok - the dog is now too deaf to bark at the midnight fireworks - but woke up inexplicably tired and grumpy and unmotivated. Felt better after unpacking some boxes of books which have been in the study for nearly 3 years (I've been running out of things to read) but by then parents were arriving for dinner. So after we dropped them home, I ran back from theirs, admiring the full 'supermoon' and wishing I were on a rogaine rather than traversing the suburbs on bin night.

riding (Brownhill Creek) 1:09:00 [3] 19.5 km (3:32 / km)

Figured I'd better do something to neutralise all the chips & chocolate consumed (as displacement activity because I really wanted to watch Topi the Corgi videos again but fear I'm becoming addicted to them) during a lazy post-work afternoon.
Still very tired so having an 'early' night tonight...Happy New Year everyone!
