running 1:06:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

After a long but interesting day at the workshop in the city, parked @Fairfield boathouse & went for a plod up Merri Creek as far as St Georges Rd, then down the creek to Dights Falls - checked out Quarries Park playground after Jayne mentioned it last week - and finished off by crossing the pipe bridge (& back again) in case I don't get around to doing this tomorrow. Knees in particular didn't enjoy the running part, but I got to run my favourite "European" section of Merri Creek twice plus see some lovely houses with springtime gardens.

Note

Preoccupied with preparing my presentation for a cancer pharmacists' workshop in Melbourne tomorrow. Got up early to give G his birthday presents since he was leaving for work @6am.

Nice evening for a run with Zara/Leith/Callum through Echo Tunnel, up past the lower waterfall to the upper waterfall (already, neither of them falling) then back down QJD. Feeling pretty buggered but the wildflowers were lovely and we saw heeeaps of spider orchids.

Can't believe I'll only be at Repat for 2 more weeks :(

orienteering (Belair) 38:30 [2] 4.2 km (9:10 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon bluegreen

Jogged around fairly casually because legs were still pretty hammered from AOKTM this morning. First part was a corridor which I kept failing to stay in and didn't manage to spot any of the extra bonus controls along the way, second part was fairly straightforward except when I ran into a branch and stabbed my neck. No blood though, so I guess my jugular vein's still intact.

running hills (Morialta) 46:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 22

Struggled up to Deep View (calves refusing to push off properly, but hips weren't really lifting either) then around to the top of First Falls & back down. Some people don't mind the heat but I'm not one of them and really wanted to sit in the creek - if only I didn't have to to go to OSA meeting.

swimming 36:00 [3] 1.0 km (36:00 / km)

Sore arms too, because, to quote the sister of the bride, with whom I was carrying pews on Sat, "I haven't lifted anything heavier than newborns lately" - she's a neonatal nurse. Some classic quotes came out of the weekend, my favourite being from the same lady (who used to live with her sister in their student days) to me: "You were our Video Ezy password"!

running 40:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 23

Sore legs this morning, partly from reversing back & forth between church & hall while carrying pews which had been put to one side for the reception (seriously, I could have logged this as weight training) but I wanted to explore where the Capital City Trail goes along the old train line past our motel, so I followed the bike path as far east as Edinburgh Gardens which I had also never explored, then back past Curtain Square (and the Albanian mosque) in time for breakfast with the newlyweds and their adorable 2-year old before G & I spent the afternoon at the zoo with Hania & Ella before flying home.
