riding (Brownhill Creek) 1:10:00 [3] 19.5 km (3:35 / km)

Pootled along the flowing creek on a misty morning, before Wallaringa breakfast @Hahndorf - at which I reminded Tyson that 10 years ago we were all in Dubbo watching JWOC, at which it was the Arrows' responsibility to erect the commentary tower (and under his & Susanne's supervision, we were way more efficient/cohesive at this than the team putting up the giant results board were). One of the reasons I enjoy watching WOC these days is that the names at the top now are those who were top juniors then, e.g. Lundanes. Don't know why I can't find the JWOC 2007 relay results anywhere online though?

Needed some fresh air after an afternoon at Matilda The Musical with parents (mum's shout) - a great production, but rather loud and rather expensive. Also, it would seem that mum & dad & G & I are all rather deaf, because we couldn't catch half the words.

Where do I sign up for the Estonian boys' fan club? So proud of Timo's team for coming 4th in the WOC relay! He's an honorary Arrow, don't you know...

A colleague asked me what rogaining is, because she'd been invited by a friend to the Jupiter Creek 6 hour next month. Our conversation went something like this...
Me: It's really cool, you get given a map, and it's got all these controls on it, and they're all worth different points, and your team has some time to plan which of these points you want to go to within the time limit available to you. Oh, and there's great catering at the end!
Her: But how do you know where to go?
Me: You read the map
Her: But how do you know where you're going?
Me: Look, these are the roads, and the creeks, and the hills, they're all on the map
Her (looking crestfallen) Maybe I'll just walk along at the back and let the others navigate
Me: ???

This epitomises the difficulty I've had in getting any of my colleagues to ever come orienteering :( I seriously think she was anticipating that there would be some sort of GPS-like device to tell her where to go!

Squeezed in a short suburban stagger before finishing tidying house for hosting WA meeting - the process having been significantly delayed last night by the fact that accidentally leaning on a shelf in the pantry which wasn't secured to its brackets led to my spending an hour cleaning up smashed jars/bottles of: preserved cherries, palm sugar, balsamic vinegar and verjuice. At least I managed to keep the dog from stepping on broken glass, but it's surprising how far this spread :(

Clockwise (ooh, radical!) North Adelaide loop with Steve, at chatting pace. We only got rained on right towards the end.
