Note

I seem to have mislaid my 1989 (NSW Champs, W14) copy of Bob's Farm/Stockton Sand Dunes. Just wondering if anyone still has the map/knows if it's still runnable?

swimming 38:00 [3] 1.0 km (38:00 / km)

Before work. Hamstring seems a bit better for all the exercise it didn't get time to do this week.

orienteering race (Morialta SS) 1:00:00 [3]
shoes: Asics 2000-4

After a busy social day, S & E were picked up by L at 6pm and so I figured I could manage to get across town to Morialta after all. Started a couple of min before Andrew K and promptly got confused about which street I'd gone down to the first control, so lost a bit of time looking on a street corner where the control wasn't. AK caught up to me along St Bernards Rd and was slowly pulling away through the controls along Fourth Creek; I hoped he still had an extra one to go to south of there but it became clear that we had planned exactly the same route and since I didn't want to slog straight along Stradbroke Rd, decided to get a couple of controls east of there on my way north and then do an outer rim on the way back, which meant less up & down, and might be more efficient; in fact I did see Andrew again towards Fourth Creek. He overshot the control on the 'junction' by rather more than I did, although I'm a bit annoyed that when I hit the creek I looked to my right and actually saw something orange but dismissed it as being just rubbish, not a control!

running 42:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 22

Not that easy to find a window of exercise with house guests (harder still for the mother of the 2 year old) so I was still a bit full of dinner, but saw some decent Christmas lights.

Note

Eleanor (looking at a piece of pasta which has fallen on the floor beneath her high chair): "Oh-oh?"
Auntie Jenny: "Don't worry, the nice doggie will come and eat it up"
Eleanor (looking disappointed after Meatloaf has hoovered the floor with his tongue): "Aww?"
Auntie Jenny: "Sorry, did you want to get down and lick it up yourself; is that what you do at home?"
Eleanor (looking bemused at the question): "Yeth"
Mummy Susanne: "!!!!!"

running long (Bridgewater) 2:04:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 22

Set off with Zara/Callum & John through Mt George intending to do the Carey Gully extension but hamstring wasn't great (actually my entire right side was very tight, from toe to thumb) and I didn't think it would like the long descent of Gully Rd so when we got up to Rangeview Dr I turned left and took the ridgeline, then went from the bottom of Woodhouse up to Old Mt Barker Rd. That meant a long descent also, down to Cox Creek - but once I'd had a drink and an apple back at the cars (got there about the same time as the others) I decided to go to the waterhole, and from there once I'd done the bastard hill up Osterley I decided to go down the old Heysen trail to where the bridge is washed out in Engelbrecht Reserve (rather blackberry-y and rough near the creek bottom) then I got a breather before the final ascent of Mountford because I stopped to talk to someone who lives there, and came back into Bridgie via the 'new' Heysen Trail.
