swimming 38:00 [3] 1.0 km (38:00 / km)

Before work. My arms didn't seem to be contributing a great deal to the process of forward motion.

Note
(rest day)

Met parents for breakfast at a new little retro cafe near them which does good coffee. Met a friend for dinner at the local pub where a distinctly bland prawn curry somehow cost me $32. Read a restaurant review where someone complained about the 'storks' having been left on the lettuce. I'd complain too, if there was a whacking great bird sitting in my salad!

orienteering (Belair) 53:00 [3] 5.8 km (9:08 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 22

We were greeted by an orienteering course tonight (forewarned, I had brought long socks) and although I thought I knew BNP pretty well I had great trouble finding the first control, a rockface in a thicket of blackberries near the main entrance. Also I had great trouble making my legs move - knees in particular were painful with every step. Guess that running every day for the past 9 days has been about 2 days too many. Normally I don't like orienteering in Belair because the grass is so dry and slippery in late autumn, but it's still green now and I startled a number of large kangaroos.

Up Springbank to the bottom of Randell's, across to Brownhill Creek & behind the caravan park, back through Mitcham & CLG. Legs very tired (actually, all of me is) but there were some sweet springtime smells and lovely rose gardens along the way.

running 43:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-2000

Up Hillrise, Tunnel X-over singletrack, back down via secret trainline crossing and finished off through the cemetery. Then Geoff & I went on a caveman-style hunter-gathering expedition (not really; just that it's been a while since we've dared to go to the supermarket @Pasadena but now the renovations seem to be nearly finished and we can actually find where everything is again, so we got a bit carried away).

Had to get my license photo renewed @Mitcham so parked at Brownhill Creek and ran up the front face of Brown Hill, puffing and sweaty in the only sunshine of the day, then down Yurrebilla where the singletrack's overgrown and grass nearly head-high in some places - nothing a good bushfire wouldn't fix.
*takes tongue out of cheek, washes mouth out with soap*

Afterwards, driving to Wallaringa meeting, I saw sooo many trick-or-treaters, some of whom looked like they should have been old enough to know better. There was even a dog in a pumpkin costume!

running long 1:30:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 21

River loop in Penrith (approx 20 min from bridge to bridge which is the scenic part, and it also takes about 20 min to get to/from the river through both suburbs and paddocks) on a pleasant morning although I was pretty sweaty by the finish and glad it wasn't any warmer/more humid. Pity the jacarandas aren't fully out yet here but maybe we can stop in Glebe this afternoon.
