Dug out an old course which we've used for training a couple of times and which runs parallel to Sheoak Rd from the quarry section to the top of the park. I was slower than previously at this, partly because I'm less fluent through the terrain than ever before and also because we first ran it after a controlled burn and now the undergrowth is over my head in some places. It was a glorious spring morning though, with the wildflowers blooming and I really enjoyed being out in the park all by myself, although still couldn't manage to shake my bad mood from earlier.
I'd actually walked out on the hairdresser in order to go for a run - well, I was booked in for a quick cut but after the assistant had washed my hair I waited another 15 min and the hairdresser herself still hadn't materialised from the back room, and I was on a tight schedule, so I left. Not quite sure why I was feeling angry at the world but it could have something to do with the fact that we took the dog to the vet earlier and the most likely explanation for a severe lack of coordination in his back legs (he trips over his own feet, and going up steps, and struggles to get up from a sitting position) is the sort of progressive/irreversible neurodegenerative condition to which ageing corgis are often susceptible :(
