Flinders Uni loop from Perry Ave after walking the dog and before work. Very tired to start off with, partly because I stayed up too late reading (Harry Potter!) last night but yesterday's anti-inflammatories had taken effect and once most of the climb was accomplished this became reasonably enjoyable, especially the downhill section through the uni (a bit surprised to encounter Ruhi out for a run but then realised Dante was presumably training with Flinders Uni athletics club) and the coolish breeze lasted through the suburbs. Not sure how I will go running for 3x as long in two weeks' time though.

Sad face :( this really didn't work out as a run, even though weather-wise it was the best morning I can expect for the next week (reminiscent of March 2008?). Even before I got to the bottom of Randell's Reserve, groin was horribly tight (possibly not ideal to come home last night and sit for 3 hours at my computer for OA board meeting) and I made an abortive attempt on the hill, then headed across to the bottom of the Linton bike path and tried again to go upwards but that hurt just as much, so I headed home through Panorama and downhills really hurt as well. As does walking around at work.

Across to Brownhill Creek & back with Meredith. I was a bit hot & thirsty but the time goes fast when you're gossiping :)

OK going up Deep View but then my legs just died; was feeling a bit lightheaded (and maybe should have had more than cereal for dinner last night). None of us were going as far as 3rd Falls today, so I just wombled back down at my leisure.

Too nice an evening not to go for a run up through the quarries by the last of the setting sun. Made it all the way up to the top of the Lynton Connector, and came down the bike path while there was still enough light to see where I was putting my feet. We'll find out tomorrow whether or not my quads express an opinion about that descent; if not, then they are adequately protected by previous downhills.

We flew to Sydney early yesterday morning and the entire day was taken up with family stuff including dinner for father-in-law's 70th. There was time today to sleep in though, and go for a run around the river in Penrith - it takes nearly as long to get from sister-in-law's to the Nepean as it does to run along it between the Victoria and M4 bridges - and to have a picnic with Tracy's family on the way back to the airport (getting home at 10pm).
