Note

83 control stands went out at Wonna Creek today, so that was a success, and George was able to 4WD 50 litres of water to within 200m of where it needed to be placed on the western edge of the map. The only disappointment of the day was when we were about to tape off half-a-dozen mineshafts: Simon chucked the brand-new roll of pink tape towards my feet but it bounced off a rock and ricocheted into the mineshaft. We all watched helplessly as it rolled over the edge; good thing I didn't try to grab it or I might now be 10 metres down also! So, that's another task for Thursday.

Note

Put on running gear and got to the end of the street before deciding that ankle/heel really wasn't happy with having run flat-footed in the dark last night and that I needed it to be ok for putting out controls tomorrow.

swimming 36:00 [3] 1.0 km (36:00 / km)

Before going to Snap to participate in the printing of 800+ maps. At least we don't have to bag all of them, unlike in 2010.

running (Belair) 1:01:14 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-2000

Last daylight Belair run of the season, probably. Up QJD all the way to the top, which was a bit of a slog, then down Saddle Hill Rd which my knee was a bit unhappy about, then back along Long Gully; I avoided the creek track because it would have been too gloomy but I think the others must have gone that way, because unexpectedly they finished after me.

Note

Attack of the Killer Masseuse
Calves still really tight. A common consequence of hard ground due to the long dry summer/autumn.

Note

Spent more time tonight on overhauling the OA rules (I hate formatting) than many other people did on running 45km a couple of weeks ago. Finished at 1:30am which would probably have been just inside the 7hr cutoff.

running (Monday night) 38:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-2000

Leisurely saunter around Hawthorndene with FTP, B&S after some light rain and before online OA Board meeting. Patrick is definitely becoming part of the gang even though he doesn't say much. Apparently he can blow his own 'trumpet'!
