Women's A course I think, anyway, the one which went around the swimming pool first up. Trotted around this with fairly sore knees after an afernoon of spectating the World Cup sprint qualifier, which was great fun especially as it turned out that a group of us were sitting about 15m away from the start triangle so we got to see what everyone's initial route choice was. Of course there had to be a suspension bridge vs causeway option somewhere on the course!
Still not sure what I think about the way the map was drawn. The stone wall symbol was used a lot, but not everywhere it could have been, and it could have been better to mark passable vs impassable walls, but I guess that would have affected route choice. As it was, some of the mapped stone walls I had to jump up or down were about 4 foot high and I didn't find this easy. I checked afterwards to confirm that 'stone wall' is in fact an ISSOM symbol; and the description is that if it's more than 2m high then it should be mapped as an impassable wall. The description for any other sort of wall also says that if it's more than 2m high it should be mapped as impassable. Hello? So if it's 1.99m, it could legitimately be marked on a sprint map as passable. That's just bizarre...
Anyway, I enjoyed jogging around among the peacocks, hydrangeas & engagement-party guests arriving at the tearooms- and the great views when walking back down Cataract Gorge at sunset. Did manage to get a bit sunburnt walking up there mid-afternoon though :(

A bit more exploring, map in hand. One day maybe I should walk out to Duck Reach.
