Spent the morning at work (woot) and although very tired this afternoon, thought I'd better make the most of the sunshine (although truly making the most of it would probably mean gardening) so trotted into Shepherds Hill, having to detour around the Saturday afternoon archery. Had to stretch knee/hip a few times to start with and it was hard to get my legs to lift. I can tell I've lost muscle tone around the bad knee, but I tried to put equal weight on both, and didn't elicit too many twinges, so went up through Eden Hills and down through Bellevue Heights and the uni. Saw a blonde ponytail heading in the opposite direction as I was going up Cashel St; it belonged to Meredith.

Note

Finished work late every night this week, which I'm a bit over; tonight it was 7pm and the running window had gone again because I had a dinner date, also at 7pm, and for which I was late (what's new?). Late-finishing Fridays are:
a) commonplace
b) going to clash badly with the numerous Friday night flights I have scheduled over the next few months.

With Zara (Callum) along Long Gully, up over the hill into the redwoods, back along the creek very squelchily - admiring the overflow waterfall from the railway dam - and all the way out the front gate, then back past hers. About halfway along Long Gully there was a sound from the south as of water rushing towards us, but actually it was the hailstorm coming. We sheltered in a shelter and watched the ground turn white, although it had melted by the time we finished running. Afterwards I wanted to go to Mt Lofty to see if it was snowing, but decided going home to get warm & dry and make dinner was a more practical option.

Note

Did have the energy, even the intent, for a run, but my evening was swallowed up by sorting out event information and entry process for the SA long champs. Now my hamstring hates me, but here's what I've got to show for it: http://eventor.orienteering.asn.au/Events/Show/189...

Note

Didn't have the energy for both running and 2015 programme committee meeting. Very tired this week, don't feel like I had a holiday...

Note

I entered today for the Kooyoora races at the end of August - $40 for Vic middle champs and $50 for the NOL ultralong. Surely that's a rip-off? I mean,$90 is about what I paid for flights each way to Melbourne! (Also, the ultralong surely won't be 6.25 times as good as the Korong event last weekend...)

Around Hawthorndene mainly with the birthday boy, getting his take on the WOC races, which was quite interesting. Afterwards we had an Arrows mini-meeting about club relays. Bridget made cake!

Slow shuffle through Parap to Fannie Bay then along the beach past the museum and back to Stuart Park. I sat for too long yesterday and my hip let me know it, so I had to stop & stretch often. Lots of little boats out on the perfectly still water.

Breakfasted in the café at the botanic gardens with Sus before sorting out our stuff (visited a few too many second-hand bookshops this week...) and heading to the airport.
