orienteering (Sugar Rush sprint) 26:00 [3] 3.3 km (7:53 / km)
shoes: Asics Kayano 19

I borrowed the NSW sprint champs map from Tracy yesterday and ran around the W21 course today, not that my knees were up to race pace (and I'm not happy with my hamstring either; Kayanos have caused it trouble before). A great map and great course and really interesting piece of Sydney which I hadn't known about. Only one truly awful route choice where I went up some stairs only to go down some other stairs, which were so high and steep as to be rather vertiginous.

From the YHA at the bottom of Glebe Point Rd to Pyrmont and return. I added another snippet to my knowledge of Sydney's geography by the realisation that yes, you can run over Anzac Bridge. Came back around the waterfront on Blackwattle Bay Park. Legs dead by the end, and really sweaty.

Note

Geoff & I had a wonderful afternoon with Susanne & Lachlan; we caught the ferry out to Manly (the ferry was dwarfed by their cruise ship berthed at The Rocks, as was the Opera House). Lunched on the foreshore seawall, whereupon I was ambushed by a seagull dropping unexpectedly from on high, knocking my sandwich out of my hands to feed its friends below! We then walked south to Shelly Beach where plenty of women in bikinis were to be found (keeping the boys happy), and also lots of scuba divers marching sinisterly across the beach like WW2 frogmen. Then we abandoned the others at Central Station and headed out to Penrith.

Fairyland loop on the Lane Cove river, with Tracy & Susanne. We were all a bit hot & thirsty by the end. Lovely to be in Sydney at this time of year and better still to see Susanne & Lachlan :)

The bike fairy put new pedals on my old bike :) Needed new legs as well today, though! Heaps nice morning for a ride along the creek.

A bit physio-fied but needed to stretch my legs before OA board meeting, for the entire duration of which the dog barked incessantly because his master was away and I was talking to half a dozen strange men online (actually because it's windy outside and he's a sook).

running (Bridgewater) 46:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Kayano 18

Simon ran from home to Bridgewater and met those of us who had rogained and wanted a 'short' run, which somehow turned into down through Engelbrecht reserve to Cox creek and up Mountford Rd then returning down the Heysen Trail, with a few more hills than F&T, Lauren and I had originally intended. We lost Bridget where the singletrack goes off at the waterhole, and Robin (who covered 20km yesterday by 'walking') did her own thing. Perfect morning for a Bridgie run :)
