Up Randell's to the BP at Belair, along Sheoak Rd, down Pony Ridge, back Brownhill Creek. Brain definitely knew I had got up at the equivalent of 4am yesterday, but legs mostly okay until near the end when hamstring/groin was twinging. Wild turnip plant was flowering taller than my head all over the Pony Ridge switchbacks; that will be fun for the Yurrebilla runners on Sunday (I can't believe Fern & Zara are running it without any 30km+ run training, but maybe the key is to think of it as a rogaine?).
As I neared the caravan park I saw a very disturbing sight: a NO DAM sign with an indicator at road level showing just how high and wide the proposed flood control dam would be. I thought that had all been laid to rest, but obviously not:

Incidentally, it is really annoying that by a quirk of geography we get the Eastern Courier Messenger, so we get to read all about Burnside Council's political squabbles, but don't actually hear about the local issues which may concern us. I don't think a 12m high 100m wide dam will get up, without a fight, even though it's not a heavily-populated valley. (Does anyone remember seeing in Qld, when the Traveston dam was proposed to dam the Mary River, the roadside billboards which said "Let Mary run free!" and showed the back view of numerous people running very free and naked?)
