Tothill = Wallaringan word for steep!
I suspected at the time that the climb had been over-estimated on the WMOC courses and certainly I felt that I climbed more contours today than I did then. Or perhaps I was just wearier; hamstring gave me 3 good days of running and is now going on strike. Not saying this wasn't beautiful (and in the more open parts, reminiscent of Mt Ainslie) with the wattle blossom and grass-trees and rocky ridges, but it was very slow going. I managed a faster km rate than the last time I went orienteering, though! Was mostly pretty good with distance and direction, but stopped to show the greenhood orchids to Tom Bullock (after all, he's one of the owners of the land through a sanctuary consortium) and on the 3.5m cliff which some people never found, I was actually right on it but didn't go close enough to see the control so went down the hill and had to come back up.
Never warmed down because I stood in the finish tent for a couple of hours then went control collecting - and got to the campground at Worlds End just on dark. Company around the campfire was pleasant and the golden-syrup dumplings a novelty but camping on a slope is not conducive to good sleep and back/legs were cramping a lot in the night.
