running (Belair night) 58:54 [3]

Hmph. Last Belair run in the dark, and last run before nationals start, and I have to go and roll my ankle :(
I couldn't remember whether I had replaced the batteries in my headlamp or not but they seemed fine when tested in the kitchen. Of course, once Zara/Callum, Bridget, Simon & I started running it turned out they weren't fine at all, so I was watching my feet real carefully since it's taken me most of the winter to be confident about running in the dark without taping. We went up past the lake (admiring the golden full moon rising), across the train line, up the hill and down the steps at Long Gully. A sign on the creek path proclaimed the track closed due to washout/landslide but we ignored it, of course, so that we could see where the bank had given way below the dam, taking half the path with it. I was too busy stickybeaking to pay attention to the rough surface and my ankle went over and extended in a way it shouldn't, causing me to shriek like a girl (but at least I didn't say anything too unladylike). Ankle being loose already, it's hard to do really bad damage any more, so it probably won't swell, but instead has strained something further down my foot.
