shoes: Asics gel 2120
Short version: Randell's Reserve, Sheoak Rd, Pony Ridge, Brownhill Creek. Long version: another of Jenny's geocaching adventures.
I headed up the hill to Belair because I could think of 4 caches on this run that I hadn't got yet. At the turnstile at the top of Randell's the fat white bulldogs came out and slavered at me and their owner came out and said "don't worry dear, they won't hurt you" and I said "of course not". What I should have said was "you need a proper fence, you irresponsible dog-owner". I should also have stretched properly when I got to the BP and I should not have worn my oldest Asics, because they have negligible cushioning and now every inch of my legs hurts.
Anyway, I found the cache I wanted in Belair after a bit of searching, and trotted off down Pony Ridge Rd to get to the bottom in daylight. After 300m I realised I didn't have my house keys. I'd put them down when I signed the logbook...so back I went. And do you think I could find the bush the cache was hidden under, second time around?
While I was searching around, someone on a bike stopped and asked what I was doing? It was Craig Colwell out setting courses for the Belair event in a couple of weeks' time. I sheepishly confessed my lack of keys and he helped me look. Finally I spotted a bush that was almost, but not entirely, similar to all the other yacka bushes, retrieved my keys, gave Craig a quick rundown on the fundamentals of geocaching, and made it home in time to watch Spicks and Specks!
