Note

Drove west for my nephew's college graduation. A bit over 5 hours including sitting in traffic near the venue waiting to get through a light and into the garage.

A decent ceremony even if it did run over (3 hours(!) instead of 2:30), a diverse class and audience (a LOT of Al...... names; I don't know whether Egyptian, Iranian, or what, but definitely Arabian of some sort, including one fellow in a Saudi Arabia-style headdress). Speaker was CNN's Wolf Blitzer, who at one point mentioned "fake" news (complete with air quotes), and the couples on either side of us pointedly did NOT clap (including my brother and his wife, parents of said graduate). Sigh. Well, I enjoyed his talk which mostly included how he got started in journalism and the encouragements he got along the way ("do what you love" / "love what you do" type of advice).

It'll be a long drive home, and my other brother mentioned a rail trail close by so maybe I'll walk with him tomorrow morning (if I can drag myself out of bed) before we head to a diner for breakfast, then do the return drive.

Temps in low 80s

Part of this outing was to look for my lost water bottle, so I jogged the rail trail from the parking lot to the far end near the Bushkill (previous entry), then started back on the uphill bike trails. When I got close I started looking and easily found my bottle just off the trail, no worse for wear after almost a week in the woods.

Last downhill is on a wide open power line right of way, where someone was doing hill repeats....
