To start of Green X course at Oak Hill (Dartmouth "permanent" course) from XC parking area.

We saw a car from NY pull in and a heavy-set fellow dressed in O clothes who looked familiar...George __ from Long Island. He was headed out on the yellow course which also had flags out.

Orienteering 1:15:22 intensity: (14 @1) + (18:00 @2) + (44:02 @3) + (13:06 @4) *** 4.84 km (15:34 / km) +96m 14:09 / km

Glen printed a 1:7500 version of the Green X NAOC course for which flags had been in place all summer. Great weather, sunny and low to mid 50s.

Too far right to #3 where I hit a different hill and corrected (and saw an O flag with no number in the vicinity!). Slightly off at 4 which may not be set quite right; slipped in stream on way to 5 and I was too far left anyway. A bit right at 7; otherwise happy with routes. Getting tired on climbs near the end.

Roads at Jay Peak in northern VT, where we attended a wedding later in the day. We had a nice Tryson family reunion there this weekend (all of Glen's siblings and their spouses, plus our two boys).

We also got to take two free rides (one on Sat., one on Sun.) up the tram to the top of the mountain (4000') from which we could see the highest points in three states. :-)

Trail run (with some walking) at Jacobsburg. Sunny and more fall-like than it's been, though at ~70 I could have gone with a sleeveless top instead of the short sleeved one I wore. Great running!

We started down at the lower end of the park so it was almost all gently sloping uphill to start. Explored a section I hadn't been on yet (there's still more I haven't visited, tho Glen's run most everywhere now), mostly north of the road and north of Bushkill Creek. Circumnavigated the site of the original settlement called Jacobsburg; I wonder if there are any ruins to explore (when vegetation is knocked down).

Walking warm up/down 8:53 intensity: (34 @1) + (5:45 @2) + (2:34 @3) 0.56 km (15:47 / km) +7m 14:52 / km
ahr:107 max:118 shoes: Sauc TriumphISO-silver/gr/blue

From parking to the bridge over the Bushkill. Stopped to read signs about the Henry family who lived around there and had mills and farms (and a gun factory).
