Exerc. Class 50:00 [1]
slept:7.5

Very, very stiff this morning with a tight right hip/butt and sore shoulder (I think from when I fell) and bruised knee (top of tibia, below the kneecap area, thankfully). So I threw some extra spinal twist stretches and did other things gently. Feel slightly better now. :-)

Back to work on A meet registrar stuff!!!

Orienteering race 2:00:09 [0] *** 7.0 km (17:10 / km) +90m 16:08 / km

Green course at Townsend State Forest, NEOC local meet. SL 5.1 km Gorgeous sunny day, with temps in the upper 50s to low 60s, topping out at 70F.

Well, for the controls I did well, I enjoyed the course. I was off to one side or another onto controls, one I'm not sure is mapped correctly (hunters stand seemed to be in much more green than mapped, but we'll see), and one was thrown out because it was hung wrong. I even tried to "think like the setter" --trying to figure out how he approached-- and looked around the area at other boulders, but I guess didn't widen my circle quite enough. ;-) That was probably my longest search; I was helped at 4 and 6 seeing Phil B going to them, and at 5 I hit another control a couple reentrants west (parallel error; miscounted reentrants/streams) of where I was supposed to be, and corrected from where I thought it might be. (Turns out it was #5 on the Red course, which then did a loop N before rejoining the Green course at my 5.) #7 was the missing control which I eventually bailed out of. Fine on the others.

Fell hard on my right knee (again?! but a different spot this time) before number 5, and took my time getting up, then fell again later but it was a more gentle fall. That's what I get for trying to run in junky woods with no knee-lifting training; I caught the right shoe on a root both times.

No matter; it's always good to spend time in the woods.

Track later. Added FR track, which is missing some of the leg from 4-5; I think it might have stopped when I fell... But it beeps to warn me of going into power save mode, when I restart it. Anyway, about 5 minutes was missing so that must be the leeway time the watch gives before power saving. Adjusted time (to match download) and distance.

Back and forth between parking and start because there was no 'clear' box at the start and we hadn't cleared SI sticks at registration....

Pilates class (weights) 50:00 [1]
slept:6.0

Up early for a pre-physical blood draw (missed my alarm but made it within a minute of the appt time and was out in <10 minutes), then to Starbucks for breakfast. Pilates was good to get back to after two weeks.

Trying the elliptical for the first time in months. While I didn't have any foot or knee pain, the quads tired quickly even down a level from normal, so I stuck it out for 15 minutes, then went to walk a mile on the track. I should try this again and see if I can go longer next time at the Y.

Adductors (to see if i can get the right knee back in alignment) and stretching after.

Walking (indoor track) 20:00 intensity: (3:38 @1) + (16:22 @3) 1.2 mi (16:40 / mi)
