Note
(rest day)

Taking a day (or two? or three if the forecasted rain for Sunday occurs) off. Visited a cemetery in Valatie to take some photos, but didn't find many of them before the rain showers started. I may re-visit sometime.

While investigating, I stumbled across the gravestone (and adjoining family grove) for Horace W. Peaslee, an early industrial magnate in my current hometown (he co-owned the paper mill at the Malden Bridge/Kinderhook Creek crossing). And he is actually not (yet?) on FindAGrave.com, but is written up in the 1878 history of Chatham, NY.

Pilates class (bands) 55:00 [1]
slept:7.0

Used a thinner (easier) band for the arm work today, of which there was a lot. Only used the heavier band when it was just legs. Didn't even bother to try the mermaid/side plank today, as that may have been what started my shoulder aggravation.
11 AM

Fitness equipment (elliptical) 27:00 [3]
shoes: Sauc.Shad-6000#8-2014H

I haven't tried the elliptical lately as either my feet or knees have objected, but it went well today. I did hill interval level 2, 25 minutes, with a two-minute cool down. Distance units of 1.13 and 0.1

Adductors after.

Pilates class (weights) 55:00 [1]
slept:7.0

Session using many muscles, with weights for triceps, biceps, adductors and hamstrings.

After class didn't feel like doing anything else, and Glen agreed...managed pulldowns, leg presses, and RDLs plus more stretching to add to what we did in class.

Low key class today, only five students. Discussed the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta today.

Event: WCOC Hurd SP

11 AM

Orienteering race (Brown/Orange course) 1:09:07 [3] *** 4.72 km (14:38 / km) +137m 12:47 / km
ahr:120 max:147 spiked:5/7c slept:6.0 shoes: Inov8 ORoc280-A 2013-08

Hurd SP in CT, nominally 3.8 km

Didn't want a long course after the trail run yesterday, and that was the right choice as I mostly walked after 4. Mistakes to 5 (hit stream and turned the wrong way before correcting off the trail) and 7 (where I wandered into the olive-green-with-no-features area before realizing I was too close to a house and figured out the stone wall I saw extended into the mapped part of the map. :-)).

Nice day in the woods, a bit on the warm side (upper 70s, 83 when we left) but that's to be expected for mid-June!
1 PM

Orienteering (White control pickup) 28:38 [1] *** 1.7 mi (16:51 / mi)
spiked:9/9c shoes: Inov8 ORoc280-A 2013-08

Split on the first one is way short because Lyn had collected it and was holding it near the start. Then I went to the car to refill my water bottle before heading out for the rest. Punched at the others before untying them; I wanted my total time because I forgot to start my watch. :-)
