Exerc. Class 55:00 [2]

Really felt the step aerobics in my quads which were really worked out from Saturday's extra-30-minute tour of the blueberries. Good--it'll make them stronger.

Also started conscious dieting (unconscious dieting wasn't working at all) today, at least during the day. Still have to work on the dinner portion sizes, though. If I get some of my extra weight off, I might even post it to keep me going....

Note

Batona 500, day 2

Running (paved) warm up/down 8:00 [1]

Before start, to loosen up tight muscles from the extra work on Saturday. :-)

Orienteering race (Green Y) 54:54 [4] *** 4.85 km (11:19 / km) +55m 10:43 / km
spiked:11/12c shoes: Jala Jukola Spider 6 (old)

Temp. in upper 50's with high humidity--rain held off until almost everyone was finished. Much better run than yesterday on an area with many more trails (for relocation if needed) and trail running options. Slight bobble on #2 (didn't hit it right on and bounced off the trail just beyond) but otherwise a very clean run, very satisfying. Also nice to move up two places in F50.

Event: BATONA 500

Orienteering race (Green Y course) 1:44:41 [3] *** 5.35 km (19:34 / km) +80m 18:12 / km
spiked:12/16c shoes: Trail NB 706 9D # 1

Unusually warm weather for mid-November! (70 or low 70's). Lots of blueberry bushes underfoot to slow you down and make it feel like there was actually some climb. :-) Two smaller errors (~4 min. worth) and one BIG booboo (as in 30 minutes) where I went an extra 1 km or so. I figure if I'd taken the route choice through the white woods instead of straight through the blueberries I would have done much, much better. Hindsight...

Walking 47:05 [3] 3.0 mi (15:42 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Shadow 6000 8.5 #2

To P.O., where I picked up an order of books and lugged them home (0.65 mi, an extra 3-5 lbs?), and beyond, after I dropped off the books.

Hiking hills 17:29 [3] ** 0.89 mi (19:39 / mi) +100m 14:34 / mi
shoes: Trail NB 706 9D # 1

Hand Hollow East. Trail up to the top of the hill.

Hiking 38:11 [1] ** 1.49 mi (25:38 / mi)
shoes: Trail NB 706 9D # 1

Trail snaked back down the west side of the hill, marked only with pink streamers, which were hard to keep track of at times so I kept having to stop and/or backtrack. Last 1/2 mile (7:54) was on road.
