Walking hills 51:51 [3] 3.3 mi (15:43 / mi)

Exerc. Class 55:00 [2]

Running (paved) 36:38 [3] 3.0 mi (12:13 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Shadow 6000 8.5 #1

I felt energized by the warmer weather (it was 55 and sunny) after my exercise class, so I decided to go for a run. It was great!--for the first 1/2 mile or so, then it felt hard, as usual, but I perservered. :-)

Monday Mar 27, 2006 #

Exerc. Class 55:00 [3]

Worked up more of a sweat today than usual. I don't know if it was that we were doing more intense stuff, or if it was just warmer than usual in the room. :-)

Sunday Mar 26, 2006 #

Walking 32:14 [2] 2.0 mi (16:07 / mi)

Had to get out and do something.

Saturday Mar 25, 2006 #

Orienteering (green course) 1:34:44 [3] **** 4.45 km (21:17 / km) +195m 17:28 / km
spiked:10/13c shoes: Jala Jukola Spider 6 #2

NEOC meet at Rocky Woods, Medfield, MA. Detailed map at 1:15000!!! I had to use my magnifier to mark the control circles on the map (taking twice the time I usually take marking the map). Minor bobbles at #1 and 2 (1-2 min total?) and a more major bobble at #12, ~9 minutes (running around the wrong steep, rocky hill). Good course by Jeff Shapiro.

Other (Trail run/map hike) 1:31:09 [3]

4.25 miles? More map hike than trail run, distance definitely estimated (using gmaps). I wandered around the woods at the bird sanctuary, following the stone wall/boundaries on the east side, then cutting out to the old road. Turned around at top of hill and back to the big boulders, where I took a horse trail to the pretty waterfall, and checked out the humongous boulders that G & I investigated last year on snowshoes. Too bad it's not on sanctuary property. Along reentrant to trail up the hill to Dorson's Rock overlook, down along the cliff line and back to main trail. White to red to white trail and then back through woods towards orange trail and through woods to field with the pavilion. Finally I ran down the road a little to get to the other edge of the sanctuary and then crossed south of the swamp and up through the woods back to the parking lot.

Monday Mar 20, 2006 #

Exerc. Class 55:00 [2]

Sunday Mar 19, 2006 #

Other (Skiing) 1:07:00 [2]

At Jiminy Peak (downhill). Time approximate, 4-5 min per run times 16 runs. Good strengthener for quads. :-)

Saturday Mar 18, 2006 #

Note
(rest day)

Quads are still a little beat from yesterday's long run. I did stroll down to the post office (1.3 mi round trip) but will not record it as "training."

Friday Mar 17, 2006 #

Running (paved) (long) 1:27:04 [3] 6.76 mi (12:53 / mi)

3.3+ mi each way out and back on dirt road (mostly packed but not as solid as pavement, plus I ran on the "wrong" side); tailwind going out, headwind coming back. Walked the hills.
Splits:
1st mi -- 12.18
2nd mi -- 13.02 (hilly)
next 1.3 mi -- 16.05
1.3 mi -- 19.28 (hilly)
last 2 mi -- 26.09 (forgot to take the split at the ~1mi point)
(Gmaps measured 6.66; my car measured almost 6.8, so I changed the length to a compromise)

Thursday Mar 16, 2006 #

Walking 45:05 [3] 2.9 mi (15:33 / mi)

MB loop (cw); windy today & 35F.

Exerc. Class 55:00 [2]

Saturday Mar 11, 2006 #

Walking hills 42:27 [3] 2.6 mi (16:20 / mi)

(Glen tells me it's) 2.6 mi roundtrip to bridge

Friday Mar 10, 2006 #

Running (dirt) long 1:25:25 [3]

Hand Hollow, in shorts! (Scratches, too, from raspberry stems when I wandered off-trail a few times.) Some walking, especially up hills and off-trail (in the scratchy stuff). Uneven footing (due to frosted sections settling/collapsing) and mud in some areas along with the warm temperature (~60).

Thursday Mar 9, 2006 #

Exerc. Class 55:00 [2]

Saturday Mar 4, 2006 #

Other (Downhill skiing) 1:30:00 [2]

Skiing at Killington. Time is an estimate counting just downhill runs (not lift time)--some more intense (on the quads, anyway) than others.

Friday Mar 3, 2006 #
