Round the Bays Half. Just entered this because work payed and heaps of people were doing it. Didn't expect much after racing Tarawera and doing Tongariro last weekend. Had planned to start at 4min/k and then pick up in the last 5k if I felt good. Unsurprisngly got sucked into going a bit quicker... Ran with a group of people trying to hit 1:20 including the lead woman. Was on pace and feeling decent at 10k, still on pace after 6k into the headwind, but was struggling. Slowed alot in the last 5-6k back round the peninsula to the finish. 1:22:37 and 21st overall, pretty much as expected at the end of a 92k week in the middle of training block.
Got 7 weeks until The waterfront half/NZ champs where I'm hoping to sneak under 75min. Then another 8 weeks until chch marathon. Looking forward to getting back into some regular sessions on the road again.

Easy jog. Round the Bay tomorrow. Just wanting a nice solid effort to see where I'm at without wrecking myself for training next week. Not expecting a great time as I've hardly done any work at threshold or on the road. Hoping that starting out around 3:50-4:00min/k will be conservative and I might be able to kick it down for around 1:20-1:22ish.

Baby session as I'm still recovering from the weekend and I have Round the Bays Half on Sunday. Just did 3x60, 3x40, 3x20s with 1min jog recovery around K-park.
