Running long 2:01:13 [3] 19.31 km (6:17 / km) +709m 5:18 / km
shoes: Asics GT-2160 (Black)

Long run from Carrington. Went around all the usual places multiple times (mcgouns, redwoods, ross creek). Legs a bit tired/tight to start with so was only going to do 90min, starting feeling good at about an hour and just kept going as it was a nice day. Good run but I'm glad I've got a few easy days scheduled as I don't think I'm fully recovered from nationals yet.

Back at Carrington now, catching up on a bit of study. Will do a long run tomorrow morning.

Running long 1:25:47 [3] 14.91 km (5:45 / km) +567m 4:50 / km
shoes: Inov8 f-lite 230

Didn't have enough motivation/time/energy to go out to bottle lake, went for a long(ish) run up on the port hills. Went up dry ridge track to the farm track, up to the crater rim walkway, allong through the two forested sections then back down huntsbury to get the post from our old house, then home. Was nice to run around all the usual places and awesome day for it. Legs a bit on the tired side but rest day tomorrow and I'll be fine. Also longest training run in my 230's and only got sore calfs for the couple of k on the flat.

Running 52:54 [3] 10.36 km (5:06 / km) +112m 4:51 / km
shoes: Inov8 f-lite 230

Decided to go out to bottle lake tomorrow and just do a cruisy run today. Just went around the river and then up the dry ridge track, up to the farm track, up a bit further, backhome the same way through hansen park.

Road Biking 29:00 [3] 6.9 km (4:12 / km) +329m 3:24 / km

Up to Victoria park in the pissing rain.

Running warm up/down 5:51 [2] 1.2 km (4:52 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 190

Jogging to the start from the carpark.

Orienteering tempo 21:01 [4] 2.5 km (8:24 / km) +78m 7:16 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 190

Orienteering training at Victoria park. Took my brothers sprint map from the event a couple of weeks ago and ran the longA course. Pretty sweet course and mapping far better than before. Just went around at a solid pace making sure I went to exactly the right places. Only mistake was at 2 where I drifted to far downhill and had to come back up into it, also a few route choices may not have been the fastest.

Will probably go out to bottle lake tomorrow and do some more training while I can.

Orienteering 19:00 [3] 6.9 km (2:45 / km)

Biking back home, was freezing on the way down and still haven't regained feeling in my fingers.

Note
(rest day)

All up a pretty good nationals, did much better in the sprint than I was expecting to and had some good running form I didn't think I'd have. Felt strong running in the long as well and was able to go hard the whole way so looks like the long hilly runs in Dunedin are paying off. Lacked the pace in the relay to stay with the top group but never really expected to. Got to improve my running by alot if I want to be competitive against Nick/Tim/Matt, but also keep doing some good Nav training.

Not sure what I'm going to train for now as I've just been following the program I was going to do if I made the JWOC team, I guess I'll probably do the cross-country season and then get myself ready for Oceania/JWOC trials 2013.

Running warm up/down 18:00 [3] 3.1 km (5:48 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 190

Pretty short warm up, legs feeling a bit smashed.

Orienteering race 34:41 [5] 6.1 km (5:41 / km)
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 190

National Champs Relay 1st leg. Went out hard and hit the first control in 2nd behind Tom. Followed the conga line of people through the next 3 controls keeping some map contact and making sure I was at the right split. Started to get passed on the way to 6 as I just couldn't hold the pace any longer. Hesitated on the way to 7 and second guessed my navigating which lost me a good 70 seconds. Got passed by William and Josh there. Played catch up for therest of the course gradually passing people. Passed Duncan at 15 and the had Greg in sight at the spectator ramp. Had some good control flow through the last loop and caught Greg and Ryan in the Finish chute.

Came in 15th place, Ryan got me by 1 second, I beat Liam by 7minutes, Also got Duncan by a minute.
