7 AM

Run 46:37 [3] 8.33 km (5:36 / km) +85m 5:19 / km

First leg of the day and took a while to get going. From Maltreath to Aberfraw. Cutting inland to start which wasn't the most interesting, but lovely on the last bit as we we got down to the dunes, then beach and back up the estuary.
9 AM

Run 4:41 [3] 7.56 km (37 / km) +50m 36 / km

From just south of Rhosneigr to the Northern end of Anglesey airport. Mainly hugging the coast, great views out to Holy island and attractive beach in Trath Cymyran.
3 PM

Run 32:49 [3] 5.91 km (5:33 / km) +15m 5:29 / km

Saw the Flying Scotsman going over bridge exactly at the moment we were driving underneath it. Then saw it again crossing the causeway as we were wating for changeover at Penrhos.

Run from there across the causeway then up the little estuary to Llanfachraeth. A real timeless quality to the estuary. Easy to imagine medaeval folk in coracles putting nets across the river - probably just my imagination - did they use coracles in this part of Wales ?
5 PM

Run 51:39 [3] 7.78 km (6:38 / km) +132m 6:07 / km

The wildest bit of coast of the day for me. Had to jog down to change over in little cove by Ynys y Fydlyn. Then around Carmel head and as far as Bryn aber with views towards Wylfa nuclear powerstation . Quite a juxtoposition.

3 PM

Run 36:04 [3] 6.9 km (5:14 / km) +45m 5:04 / km

Start of jolly MDC weekend away running around the Anglesey Coast path. Relay style, in groups of 2,3,4 or even more.

Leg on the North side of the Menai Strait from Llanedwyn, near Plas Newydd to Foel Farm. Was not expecting much from this leg, but actually quite fun running along the shingle shore and some quiet foothpaths with great views accross the strait.
5 PM

Run 38:08 [3] 6.04 km (6:19 / km) +55m 6:02 / km

From Newborough beach car park - negotaiting all the traithlon barriers being erected - to the end of Ynys Llanddwyn. And back - handing on batton to next team on route . Despite having orienteered at Newborough many times have never made it out to the headland / "island" . And it was fabulous - especially in the bright but windy conditions we had.

6 PM

Urban Orienteering race 46:00 [3] 6.31 km (7:17 / km) +182m 6:22 / km

SWOC street Score event in Crickhowell prior to the AGM. Raining hard, and
not very navigationally challenging but vistied some of the footpaths up towards table mountain and enjoyed it more than I was expecting.

Run 2:48:17 [3] 23.6 km (7:08 / km) +757m 6:09 / km

With Charles. Across the Ebbw, up Myndd Machen , down to Wattsville up the Murder Mile as far the Church Inn and then down the Raven walk to Cwmcarn at which point we realised I had been a bit too ambitous with the timing so opted for the canal route back instead of the originally intended Twmbarlwm....... Hope Charles got to his father of the bride, wedding suit fitting in time .....

Longest run I have done for a while.

7 PM

Run 59:43 [3] 8.07 km (7:24 / km) +405m 5:55 / km

MDC run from Torpantau.

Anti clockwise loop thru the woods first then keeping below the scarp up to the plane crash site / memorial and back via Graig Fan Las. Pretty windy but not as bad as I had expected on the ridge back into it. Needed headlight for very last bit down the rocky steps. Not very many of us, so stayed as one group, which meant some long stops.
