Running 40:00 [2] 3.0 km (13:20 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Orienteering race (Cookworthy Forest) 42:16 [4] 5.47 km (7:44 / km) +125m 6:56 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Disappointing run, my head wasn't in it from the start. Rushed off after seeing Pete and Lewis go off from the start. Got dragged off line by undergrowth but didn't register I had on the map.
Then kept making silly errors mainly because my compass was poor but also because I didn't realise that the windblown was mapped as green with brown dots, like broken ground. I assumed it wasn't mapped because I had seen early on that dark green (without brown dots) looked like dark green on the ground. So when I saw the dark green (with brown dots) I ignored the windblown stuff, because I couldn't see the difference on the map.

Didn't enjoy the area and the weather and the assembly field and the wait for the buses and the walk to the car and the hypothermia.. but oh well!!

Low down on results but I understand where I went wrong and learnt from it.

Orienteering race 17:33 [4] 3.25 km (5:24 / km) +40m 5:05 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Sprint race - Bicton College.
Had a fast, clean run. Ran in control all the time and didn't push too hard.
Caught Jack up 1 minute and used him in the circle, I could plan ahead while he searched behind trees! He was running fast and had a good result.

I came 2nd so me saving myself paid off! ..15secs down on JimJam aka sprint king =)

Running 30:00 [3] 3.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

Jog to the start and dynamic stretching. Didn't feel tired from the day before.

Orienteering race 1:23:38 [4] 8.0 km (10:27 / km) +545m 7:48 / km
shoes: Inov-8 X-Talon 212

=D So happy with my result!!!! Had a really good race. Technically I was good, but found it hard physically, especially near the end.

Main mistake was when I went to 8 before 7 (not on purpose) but managed to move on quickly. Also lost a minute on the last control due to me switching off and trying to run with my legs straight to avoid my hamstrings cramping!

1st M18!! ...and 4th overall!!!
