running 43:46 [4] 7.1 km (6:10 / km)
(sick) shoes: saucony guide 2

Felt heaps better today and felt good when running although still a little sick. Didnt get time to do anything yesterday. Ran 1km w/u then about 5kms hilly/hard and then 1km w/d however the last km or so was all up hill up mt macedon so still pretty hard work. Did this run about two weeks ago and even though i did do intervals that time i struggled to run up most hills where as today didnt stop once :)

running intervals 45:08 [4] 7.2 km (6:16 / km)
(sick) shoes: saucony guide 2

Felt really terrible and stayed in bed most the day because of this stupid flu'y cold thing, went out for a run though but only did one set of the intervals. Did 3km w/u 200m/200mrec, 400m/400mrec, 600m/600mrec, 400m/400mrec, definitely getting fitter as it was alot easier to do these than it has been in the last 2 weeks, however at the end of the last interval really felt the onset of lactic acid and was very stiff and heavy for the last one and a half kms of the run. Still feeling crap so not going to go for a swim tomorrow and hopefully can shake this cold around thurs!

Fell run 55:33 [3] ** 6.59 km (8:26 / km)
(sick) shoes: saucony guide 2

Still really sick so decided not to go for the 70min forest run, however got out there n planned around 30mins, was setting a small butterfly loops training session for John Joe however was rushing cos i was running late and just ended up disorientating myself and did the classic rushing and getting lost.

running 41:10 [3] * 6.14 km (6:42 / km)
(sick) shoes: saucony guide 2

Took a mac street o map out, not hard at all considering i know the town inside out, however good to just keep contact with the map, get the head going. Ran really badly though, have come down with one of those really shitty, earache/swollen glands colds so just took it easy.

running hills 37:22 [3] 6.0 km (6:14 / km)
shoes: saucony guide 2

1km w/u, 4kms solid (fast/hilly), 1km w/d. Didint start to feel any energy until about half way through the run, calfs were really sore as well! Everything just felt heavy.

2 PM

swim 40:00 [3] 1.3 km (30:46 / km)

10 laps breast stroke w/u, 20x2laps freestyle/1lap breast stroke (i find freestyle hard this got the heart rate going), accidentally did 2 extra laps of free style, followed by 10 laps breast stroke w/d. Felt good, nice to do somethihg low impact on the knees!

running intervals 31:52 [4] 4.82 km (6:37 / km)
shoes: saucony guide 2

stayed at Daylesford last night, dont really know my way around, but knew round the lake would be a decent run, however did not do the full run due to a number of factors (really hungry - shouldnt have gone before breakfast and sick of stopping the dog from chasing geese every two mins etc.) so instead of 3km w/u 8x(200mby100m) followed by 3km w/d i managed 3km w/u, 2x(200mby100m) followed by 1km w/d.... i know it doesnt really work this way, but heading out for a short run to finish of those intervals & to avoid study!
7 PM

running intervals 22:44 [4] 3.84 km (5:55 / km)
shoes: saucony guide 2

Finished off those intervals, felt alot easier then last week, although didnt do them in hilly area and didnt run as far all at once this week!

Fell run 1:06:00 [3] ** 7.32 km (9:01 / km)
shoes: saucony guide 2

Went out for a forest run this evening with ollie, felt good, ran well, glad i gave myself 2 days rest! Romeo (my dog) got annoying, kept chasing animals so kept having to stop to find him! Got lost on the map near the end when it got dark :s

Thursday Mar 15, 2012 #

running race 33:50 [5] 5.6 km (6:03 / km)
shoes: saucony guide 2

Went out and did a 3km time trial today, but have logged the entire run including w/u of 1.2kms which took 7:20mins and w/d of 1.2kms which took 9mins.
Time trial itself was not great, alot of shitty factors: really muggy, windy, ran on grassy oval to appease knees (still sore), and woke up generally feeling like crap today (alot of excuses) but all up just very unfit, took 17:30mins and i felt very very crap running right from the warm up, was hard work as 3kms time trials always are, but had to walk alot of the w/d.
Not overly impressed with my lack of fitness, but it can only get better from here.

swim 22:00 [3] 0.75 km (29:20 / km)

Woke up with a really sore knee this morning, think i may have slept on it funny after big run yesterday, so decided to give it some recovery haha. w/u 10 laps breast stroke, (2laps freestyle, 2laps kickboard, 2laps dumbbell, 2laps breat stroke)x2 4laps breast stroke w/d as i needed to finish up quickly to catch train home. knee feeling a bit better.

running (intervals) 46:09 [4] 7.11 km (6:29 / km)
shoes: saucony guide 2

So the aim was to do a 3km w/u followed by 8X200m by 100m intervals then a 3km w/d. surprising for first training session back and after the weekends NOLs managed to do all the intervals, however had to walk up some hill in the 100m rest, only did about 2km w/d however was all uphill up mt macedon, walked a bit when calf's really started to burn. Pretty happy for first run back! ps. was running faster then lucy for the 200m we ran together.
