Dno why I did this run... I got carried away, it was silly and I was well late for work!
Post Spook, two 20km days, ave 7hrs sleep... feeling rubbish, and have a 10km on sunday... if I don't set down a decent time I'm gonna need to remember to refer back to this post! Ah well... two rest/easy days, loads of food and hopefully I'll be feeling ok!
Was a bit of a grim run too tbh... first half just a slog up Abbeydale, Eccy and Ringinglow (not convinced on the climb again) against the wind and sideways rain.... but then dropped down into Porter and lifes natural balance just fell back into place <3

SRG - kinda shit sesh tonight... I was on my own, had a large group, all different abilities, three new people and two people who were just not wanting to take part, one of which skipped around telling me he had had a heart attack but then ponsed about saying he couldn’t do any of the running with no reason why... and no one had headtorches... so the best I could come up with we’re some intervals on the lit path in Weston park... pretty uninspiring...
Dan, Glen and even Dimitri got on with it and we’re great but it was a pretty low key session for us four. Tbh this is probably a good thing... I’ve been cooking Wednesday’s and I’ll probably feel good tomorrow at spirals for having an easier day today... just gotta get my head in that game!

Weird day, got a bit of an abdominal pain at work, that just kept getting worse by 2hrs could barely walk so went into the docs and turns out I have a kidney infection - popped me on antibiotics and painkillers and within an hour I was feeling loads better! Just took the arvo off and slept, feeling groggy and glad I caught it quickly! So bit of a forced rest day. He thinks it was caused by dehydration.

Treeton Dyke and Hail Mary Woods - nice day for it once the rain settled. Think I came 6th, 2nd woman behind Kim - Had two real scrappy controls in the beginning and then another few later on that just weren't a clean line - partly put that down to the map around the Dyke not being very accurate. Felt ok and was able to push and knees were alright. Got a little bored in the second half just back and forward track running, but not alot else you could do with this area really!

In other news... its been a 100km week - good training, and getting more consistent still! Track, two orienteering sessions and two trail runs, feeling pretty happy with that!

Rushop Edge, flags to Brown Knoll, Kinder, Edale, Mam Tor loop with Joe, Lova and his mates Cal and Charlotte and her doggo Rueben... really nice chilled morning out! Really enjoyed a little more dose of the peaks and love running around these ridges! Knee a bit uncomfortable the whole way round - not sure if its a knock on from shin, overuse, old old injury flaring up or new injury but will just keep an eye on!

SYO Night O - really awesome course set by Dom based on a Ravinen training we did on Stockholm tour where you had a 1:3000 map with long legs that went out to control pick loops on 1:2000 map- I'm as always so impressed with how good Dom is at planning!
4th on Pitch Black course, only woman! Lova caught me up pretty quick but then made a mistake mid way so I ended up pipping him by 30s odd! Nav was ok bar one I ran passed. Last loop was horrid though through hip high heather... still really enjoyed it though!
Got super cold waiting for one of our guys after - good thing Lova sorted me out with a penguin (shit tim tam) and a space blanket - note to self - no cold long runs with freshers... finding it so hard to temperature regulate post run atm!

Harriers - decided to do same session as Ellen and Char - 10min tempo, 8x400 (off 1min), but then wanted to see what I'm sitting at for 3km so made it a 3km tempo instead.
Felt terrible all day - had a nap in the shop and was very unmotivated for track so was pleased to run ok and come away feeling a bit better for it.

3km watch time - 11:54, track time about 12:13 I think - was pretty happy with that as Ive not run a fit 3km in about 8years and thats maybe about a min off back then, at the start of winter training feeling reasonably comfortable, so definitely something good to work with!

Legs felt heavy in the 400s after a big monday;

Did a random metabolic conditioning session this morning cos I felt like doing something different;

Session was very disjointed - started on curve but didn’t have the will power or strength in the legs for the longer intervals so quickly gave up and moved to a dreadmill that didn’t work, then to one that did, then kept forgetting the reps on the KB jerks so pretty sure I did a couple extra of those... worked hard non the less but it’s 40mins of treadmill that life will never give me back

Manc City Race - 3rd
Pretty happy with my run, not feeling great with the cold today, had been coughing all night but still managed to push most of the way! Got a stitch half way through and just about managed to run it off but did have to slow for that.
Technically I was happy, but I lost time through the first underpass I had to take because I miss read the levels and then got stuck waiting for a stream of cars to be able to cross the road - maybe 30s. One route choice to the last control that I could have chosen better but not a big loss!
Couldn't really get into today's race - too much stopping for cars, and people, including other orienteers who were going slow, saw you coming and still decided to not move aside or faffed about at the control which was a bit shitty! Still had fun though and am happy to be running faster on these!

Offerton Sprint pt 1 - 1st
Really good flow and pace, felt good and orienteered well. Good flow.
Course wasn't too tricky but you had to be really on the ball with staying in contact with the map as there was alot going on if not much route choice.

Offerton Sprint pt2 - 2nd
Not as good on this one - 3 time losses adding up to about 1:20 which cost me the overall win. 3rd one was about a minute because I exited a housing estate and looked up and saw some chavvy little kids having a smoke where I thought the control was... and thought oh here we go they will have taken the control, ran straight to them, got really confused without realising that I was on the next same feature along, kind of got confused as I gave up thinking the control had been taken and started heading out in the wrong spot then realised i'd made an error - poor work on getting distracted and making assumptions instead of just reading the map. Alright otherwise though, and was fun!
