running 1:05:24 [3] 10.38 km (6:18 / km) +179m 5:48 / km
(sick) shoes: New Balance

Did my session round one of the moors in Dartmoor while Lucy was looking around the cooking school she wants to go to... Ended up on some quite dodgy lanes and the these two guys in a car just stopped half way up the road so I was really starting to freak out, luckily quite a few other people drove past and a guy on a horse was out and I found a footpath so got off the road but had to walk for a while to calm myself back down... Real frustrating running in this country because there is so much more crime it just doesn't feel safe to go out by yourself in the beautiful places that are more secluded.

Easy one down the canal, legs feeling good so the rest for the last 2 weeks has help... no pain but left foot a little techy... this felt really hard though as I have a pretty chesty cough atm, and not alot of energy.

orienteering race (london city race) 8:19 [3] 1.2 km (6:56 / km) +10m 6:39 / km
shoes: New Balance

today was the ultrasprint which consisted of 3 prologues all around 1km with about 25 controls each, and a final of around 30control... was really good fun, although not super technically difficult - i really had no problems in the last 3 races but made some royal stuff ups in this first one which probably cost me a place in the final, as i placed 24th in this first one then 2nd and 3rd in the next two prologues.... a gate had been shut on one control, and it consequentially was moved to outside the gate and we were told this at the start but i completely forgot when i actually got to the control so was running around an oob like a headless chicken... i also got a time penalty for punching one tree too far on a row of tree.... as i had counted the number of controls not the number of actual trees when deciding which it was on... so a bit all over the place but i guess i got the hang of it and did well in the next two.
Legs were feeling tired but could actually move today so was able to get a bit of pace which was a nice change.... feeling pretty wrecked in the final though and by now very tired looking forward to a bath!

Not a good day to say the least... Just nothing in the legs... Weren't as sore in the tendons as they have been but not good and words cannot explain how slow and uncomfortable I was for this whole race... It was a slog! Which was a shame because feeling fast last London City race was really good fun! Did run past Tower of London and tour bridegroom though which was cool so I got a little tourist on! Didn't bother warming down as I finished so bloody slow anyway and was so wrecked by the end... Tomorrows ultrasprint will be another slog I can already tell!

orienteering race (London City race) 26:09 [3] 3.88 km (6:44 / km)

London City race weekend night sprint... Feeling very crappy going into this... Just all round tired and legs not in good shape at all despite copious amounts of baths and massage in the last 24hrs... However they were well enough to run so that was good!!! And even eased off a little in the warm down (which was around the royal Albert hall -pretty cool)!! The sprint was at imperial college and despite it basically being four big buildings with only two ways in and out it was pretty technical with some multi level stuff... I definitely lost time on 3 controls in this... But then also possibly made some really good route choices on other multi level controls... I havnt run on many maps like this so it is something for me to practice! Was great fun despite the general slow feeling! Hopefully the legs pull up for the City race tomorrow :)
On side note - schepisis apartment is mint - view of the entire rooftops of London and his gf ash makes a mean curry! Feeling spoilt!

swim 35:00 [3] 1.1 km (31:49 / km)

only started to feel myself again today, after the weekend of races! And tomorrow is the start of London city race weekend so gotta turn it around quick! Went for a walk first thing this morning... to make sure I got up and out today instead of just lazing around (plus the weather is SO nice today!) legs feeling tight, tendons sore, so could only really face a swim this morning which was good... the lady let me in for free because I had to wait in line for like 5mins tops (bonus) and I went to have a look around the gym and when the guy started telling me all about how he could teach me to gym, i whipped out my inner black girl sass and was like look brother I had this job in aus... and i pretty much got offered a job (double bonus)... today has been a good day!

ok so i really must have fooked my legs on the weekend... because this was actually just a brisk walk... tried to run and it was just so painful... really worried about whether i will be able to run this weekend! on a side note... canal people are just so bloody strange.. like i used to be stumped by the fact that i ran faster then canal boats, but now i know i also walk faster... what a shitty mode of transport...

running race (IcebugX ) 2:20:14 [5] 20.0 km (7:01 / km) +546m 6:10 / km
shoes: Ice bug zeal

Race wrap up: 3days/73ks of stunning Swedish scenery, great company, plenty of running bants, pain joy pain etc, amazing food, sunshine, rain, thunder... Just an all round great time!!
Today was really tough... I really enjoyed the start because it was up the biggest hill of the race so far with a good rock scramble and we powered up it... But was then followed by about 1km downhill across hillside and the slant of the track just killed my tendons... And every step after that was pretty damn painful until about the 8km mark where it started to ease and I was able to regain a bit of pace... From there on, unlike yesterday, the kms just rolled over and before we knew it we were running into the finish of the total 73kms! I'm so proud of Nic and I, we had never done anything like this and we ran the entire race, and it was a pretty bloody stunning race... It feels really good right now!

running race (IcebugX) 2:44:23 [5] 23.0 km (7:09 / km) +276m 6:45 / km
shoes: Ice bug zeal

Stage 2 of icebugX, was wet out of 10! Felt like head wasn't quite there to run 23kms at the start but both Nic and I really picked up morale after getting out onto some cool rocks!! Unfortunately said rocks also gave us both quite a bit of pain in different parts of our legs so the rest was a slog! Again we had the speed in the terrain and kept overtaking people here and then getting caught back up on the flat roads, we did pip old mate in the fluro and walk up/sprint down hills girl so maybe they were our personal goals checked... Along with not having walked any of icebugX so far... Yuhuuuu!! Lunch at the end was just AH MAZE ING... I was the happiest person on earth... Before becoming the coldest in my mad dog safety blanket... Neck, back, legs, everything sore now... So time for some R&R (including massive gourmet dinner) before tomorrow's pain/relief!!

running race (IcebugX trail race) 3:25:12 [5] 29.5 km (6:57 / km) +337m 6:35 / km
shoes: Ice bug zeal

Bloody hell... Can I just say... What a day for Nic and I, we are both so stoked to have run the entire first stage of icebugX... We didn't really head out with a goal as we both didn't know what to expect (and we still don't for the next 2 days) and it really hurt... We were both in pain for the last 8km or so, but we took it slow and ran the entire thing! One high point was that an orienteering background gave us a clear advantage in the rocks and up hills (which weren't even that steep) which is where we gained most time on other people! I didn't really get any of the tendon tightness/pain that I've been struggling with either so that was brill!!! Official time is longer, including stops, and we had a small rest at the 10km mark for the ferry off the island... All in all stunning scenery, top notch weather, beaut company... Bring on tomorrow's only slightly shorter stage..

running intervals (Fartlek) 52:45 [3] 9.2 km (5:44 / km) +30m 5:39 / km
shoes: Ice bug zeal

Took the bugs out for a warm up for the weekend... Tried out this Fartlek sesh I had found on some running blog... 30s hard 90rest then 30/75, 30/60, 30/45, 30/30, 30/15, and then repeal back up again... Was ok bit slow with the long recov ints... Glad I didn't go for something harder than this today though cos the legs are wrecked, the had nothing after the intervals in the warm down, and I'm starting to think I've done a bit too much this week and not prepared well for icebugX on the weekend... A lot of massage on the plane tonight and will take tomorrow very easy :) pretty pumped none the less!!!

running 39:43 [3] 7.1 km (5:36 / km) +28m 5:29 / km

Was going to do a fartlek sesh today, but legs were quite tight, shins hurting and got quite hungry running... Had been on my feet all day... And real stressed that my legs will be tight for icebugX on the weekend, so decided just to take it easy and will try do some into tomorrow morning, before heading over to Sweden!
