Note

So, how much would you pay to undo something stupid you did? Me? At this point, lots of money. Too bad that there are no backsies.

(injured)

So, I was on a ladder on Saturday, when it slid out from under, and I slid with it. Thought my ankle or leg was broken, because I couldn’t put any weight on my foot, right one unfortunately.

Emergency room on Saturday. Nope, nothing broken. Saw specialist today, and it was confirmed that it is a complete separation of the Achilles from the heel. Surgery best/only route, and I hope to have surgery on Monday. It was so clear what the issue is, that he isn’t even ordering an MRI.

Not in any real pain right now, except my other foot is bunged up some as well, so it hurts to bear my full weight on it when needing to stand.

You know I don’t do things halfway, so I have 3 knee scooters (3rd one on order) one for each floor. Not that I feel much like going into the basement to do the laundry.

Roger is in Iowa until Saturday. This was my week to do things around the house without him. Possibly the biggest disappointment of all - home alone but prone. ;-)

Neighbors have been great with ER run, work on Monday and Tuesday, two dr appts today, mowed the grass, and more.

Pepper is staying with Boomer until Saturday. She is doing well.

I have a pre-op appt at 8 am tomorrow, then will probably work
most of the day and Friday. Actually easier than being home, since it is all accessible.

Anyway, that is all I know for now, besides that fact that I won’t be doing anything weight bearing for ~six weeks. I will decide later on whether I can go to Whitehorse, Canada - departure date is August 14. Won’t be able to orienteer, but I can help and see the sights. We shall see.
