Biking (Mason Neck) 38:50 [1] 6.44 mi (6:02 / mi) +35m 5:56 / mi

QOC meet at Mason Neck. No O for me yet, so I brought the bike. Well, the bike was actually in the car since I hoped to ride it yesterday at Rocky Gap while race timing there. But, I wussed out on that, and therefore, I had to get a ride in today, or else look really silly for driving my bike around all weekend for nothing.

The bike trail at Mason Neck is only about 3 miles, but that was enough to kick my out of shape butt big time. Though couldn't have asked for a more pleasant day to toodle around at slow speed on the bike. If I was going to suffer, at least I was suffering on a very peasant day.

After, I worked epunching, affording me the privilege of meeting shep, visiting from Australia, who kicked ass on the Blue course, throwing down 60:19, 22 minutes ahead of the next closest competitor. Thought it would hold up, but, Eddie arrived near the end of the start window and ran for the win in 59:19. Shep's major downfall was the first control when he had issues with adapting to the 5 FEET contours on this map, unique to the area. Eddie tried to give it back at 6 & 7, but it wasn't enough. :)

A very cool day. Thanks to Amy, Mary, and all of the other people who work towards making QOC a great club to belong to.

Note

9 hours MTB - epunching

Left house at 5:40 (5 minutes ahead of schedule, so there!! Roger) with AL.
Arrive at park at 8 AM, 3 DC and 1 bathroom stop 15 minutes from the park.
Set up stuff for race start at 10 AM, a bit frantic since there are lots of race day registration, which is OK since I am being paid per person for this event.
9+ hours of racing, clean up, etc.
Leave park at 8:20
Drive home, somewhat impaired with fatigue, but don't tell AL, and arrive home safely at 10:20.
Unloaded the car, and then tried to decompress enough to sleep. NOT happening since I had drank about 10 DC today, including one on the way home.

Wore the removable boot today since I was going to be on my feet all day on concrete. Pain was minimal when I got home. Yeah!

forgot to do the tennis ball, will do that this evening

Had some pain yesterday when walking from the car to the pool, but then I wasn't wearing the ankle brace as I was advised to do, so that may have been a contributing factor. Back to being good with the brace today.
