Set up for the race timing and then took a run down the trail (with ankle braces). Felt fine enough. Gross humidity.

Legs are a bit shot, but I think I am getting stronger again.

Reminded me that I saw a Baltimore Oriole, being chased by a mockingbird, along side the trail on Thursday morning. Pretty cool looking.

Cleaned chain when I got back.

Rain all day, so a good rest day to take. Contemplated doing the core dvd, but I couldn't quite muster up enough enthusiasm for it. Another day, perhaps.

Supposed to rain all day tomorrow - some tropical storm... So, I decided to ride all of the way to work. Stopped at the deli in the PT office building for an egg salad platter since I didn't bring lunch with me. Rode to work with a bit of a headwind, but since it was slightly downhill, it wasn't too bad.

Got called to the central office, reporting time up to me within reason, so at lunch time, I rode home, showered, and reported to the office 2 miles from the house. Favorable wind in general, so I quite enjoyed this trip home.

Despite the continuation of sleep issues (can't fall asleep and can't stay asleep when I finally do, leading to 2-3 hours of sleep each night for the last ~2 weeks), I woke up feeling fairly rested at 5 AM. Closed my eyes a bit longer, and then got up in time to eat, shower, and then ride out to PT appointment.

Lovely temps, though fought a bit of a headwind going out. Knew the return trip would be more fun.

Ride home was indeed more fun, enough so that I didn't fret about that last hill overly much and chose to "power" up the long, steady hill, instead of the steeper one broken up into three parts.

A good PT appointment, and a bike ride is such a great way to start the day!
