Biking (Trainer) 1:00:00 [1]

Purchased a trainer for the bike a couple of days ago and finally hooked it up today. Too lazy to get out of the house early and temps precluded me from riding outdoors later.

Kind of interesting experience. Went to RRI because it was convenient at the time, but the REI staff failed to demo the bike trainer and whether it was easy to set up or not. Actually, they failed to have any knowledge at all in the bike trainer area.

So, the next day it was to the local bike shop, which was much more responsive to my needs. I went with the least expensive option, which is usually against my usual purchasing pattern. Coupled with some advice from the repair guy/not sales person about using a fan (a BIG fan), as well as a stool to mount/dismount the bike, and I was set. I devised my own way of taping my ipad* to the handlebars, and off I went.

The plan was for an hour, which I managed, barely, after a break at 20 and 45 minutes. Note to self - you still need to wear appropriate length bike shorts. Too short, and well, uncomfortable rubbing takes place.

I think I can handle this routine a time or more too, if it means avoiding the heat. Though there may need to be a television set involved. But, hey, exercise is exercise, and this wasn't a stroll in the park.

*ipad was my 11.5 month old one which I dropped on the concrete on Tuesday. Yup, shattered glass, though still readable. So, a bit of duct tape to secure it to the handlebars was no big deal.

Sadly, I am a slouch, and this is all I have done of recent.
