Race timing went well, or at least we had everyone's time correct by the time we left the race site. Wakefield was fast and furious this year. Lots of five milers finishing in a short amount of time.
Knees, feet, and hip painful. So, feel sorry for myself and do nothing. Actually, that is a lie...I did 3 hours of yard work, which probably explains the sore body parts.
Sad to not be competing in NC this weekend, even though I didn't really want to go.
Ran the first mostly downhill mile ~10 minutes - too fast. Lungs hurt. Then walked some including up the hill behind the house and into the "woods" to check out the addition the neighbors are doing a few houses down. Hit my right knee on a log. Didn't notice the copious amounts of blood until later after it had already run down my leg and into my shoe. New shoes tomorrow (yeah!), since these were also my "work" shoes. Injury not too bad after I cleaned up the blood. Ran a bit more later on. Body parts feel OK right now, but what will tomorrow bring?
Felt pretty beat up from Saturday. Really need to not go running off on a course without a more gentle warm up and then some stretching to the Achilles and hip. Will try to learn from this.
