Note

Race timing: EX2 Cranky Money at Fountainhead (rescheduled from Irene)

Mowing/Yard (Mowing (2)) 20:00 [0]
slept:2.0 weight:177lbs

MTB race was cancelled, so I "slept" in - no real sleeping involved.

In the afternoon, I mowed the neighbor's lawn and then our lawn.

Good workout, even if it wasn't running or time in the woods. My arms ached after.

Note

7 x 6.5 miles? - not happening! Will help race time the VHTRC Women's Half Marathon instead.

Trail Run (Fountainhead) 25:40 [2] 2.0 mi (12:50 / mi)
slept:2.0 weight:177lbs shoes: Pink Ice Bugs #2

Months ago, the GRAND PLAN for today was to run lots of laps (7?) around a (6.5 mile) loop at Prince William, possibly exceeding the most I had done in the past (50 KM). A hamstring injury in June on the left leg, and then another on the right leg, rendered this goal impossible.

So, I "soldiered" through the New York O' events, and then laid off, feeling quite sorry for myself. Volunteered to help out with the race timing today at the VHTRC Women's Half Marathon, knowing quite well that I would be more then helping, but I didn't have to load up the whole show, so it turned out to be a pleasant day.

Got there 30 minutes before race start after a flood detour, set up my computer and printer, and then followed through with the plan to run one mile out and back on the Fountainhead to Bull Run Trail. Despite the 8+ inches of rain in the last five days, the trail was in great shape, and the weather was pleasant.

Out in 1308 and back in 1232.

Race timing went well after, made better by the fact that I could bail before the last had been accounted for.

Home for a shower, nap, and then dinner out with Roger.

Running 20:00 [2] 1.85 mi (10:49 / mi)
shoes: NB 1064 Blue

Trying to break the downward spiral that I am in. I took stuff to work, but I was too OCD about something, and I needed to get that done, so I could forget about why the extra work had been foisted on me, and the fact that I had "accepted" it.

Anyway, late home for work (not quite equal to my late arrival at work), rest period with Roger, and then DETERMINATION! Something for 20 minutes, so this was it. A tour of the neighborhood in the rain - about .75' [edit: inch, note foot!!] fell in the 30 minutes I was out. The rain felt so good, and I wasn't hit by lightening, so that was a plus.

I didn't wear my FR just so I wouldn't fret about the pace, but, of course, I had to measure it after.
6 PM

Walking 10:00 [1] 0.65 mi (15:23 / mi)
shoes: NB 1064 Blue

Walked up the hill home. Note to self - lose the stomach. With the soaking wet shirt, and the HoHos and Little Debbies ingested this last weekend, I look pregnant! UGH!

Note

Despite the fact that I am not training, or perhaps because of it, I have bought a ticket to the ST Louis meet at the end of October. We shall see. I am looking forward to the potpourri of events being offered. Note to Sandy - I need my lights back. :)

I am also in the early planning stages of my trip to UNO-land. I think I will drive up October 5, and then look to do some stuff October 6 & 7 before immersing myself into running the results for the weekend. I liked Maine, the little bit I saw last year, so maybe something there.

Note

I am a unmotivated, discouraged, creaky slug.
