Rode to work to pick up some files I need to do the rankings (rankings update ETA is tomorrow).

After about a 15 minute break at work, I headed out to get a longer ride in. Though, I am thinking that these two together with the short break might qualify for the 30 for April.

Ventured into DC across the 14th Street Bridge. Went to Georgetown, but I didn't want to figure out the Key Bridge crossing, so I rode back and crossed on the Memorial Bridge. This wasn't going to make for an easy/safe way to get back to the GW Pkwy, so I rode back into DC and back to the original bridge. Home from there.

Slow slog up the George Mason hill. Stopped half way and collected myself, then found a new mental gear, not bike gear, to get the rest of the way up.

So, besides getting the bike ride in this afternoon, I put waterproofing stuff on the deck this morning. I would say it is another chore crossed off of my Spring Break list, but it was actually a chore Roger had for me to do on his list.

Forerunner: 5.1 miles with 316 m climb

Arrived at the park just after it opened at 9 AM. Out on the course by 9:15 with a goal to be done by 11:30. Finished with time to spare. Original plan was the 8.8 k Blue course, but we were supposed to have a group of 49 marines show up at ~11:45, and though I had them in the computer already, I didn't want to get back from my course with a backup of people. As it was, the marines lost 30 to late sleepers, and they didn't show up until 12:30 or so.

Physical course with lots of ups and downs - good BG training. Beautiful morning in the woods, and the rest of the meet went very well also.

Spring break, back to work on April 25

Weight all week was 172. I am happy with that.

No workout today, but I did the following:
Got up a little after 6 AM (awake every hour since 11 PM, so, heck, just get out of bed already!)
Had breakfast. Recently, I have been obsessing about the cinnamon rolls in the freezer, so this morning I gave in. Had 8 mini x 110 calories each. Not bothered by this, and now I have had my fix for a while.
Scrubbed and power washed the deck (~ 2 hours)
Showered and then went to the home improvement store and lunch with Roger.
Long nap. More sleep in a row then I have had in a week or more.
Worked in basement - printing maps for tomorrow, and setting up meet software, and getting things generally organized.
Download software to do my mother's taxes.
Put together the new smoker. Skipped second nap.
Had thoughts of doing the core workout, but decided not.
Waiting for dinner to be served.
Had dinner. Did dishes. Made more cinnamon rolls, now the larger variety.
Completed and filed my mother's taxes. Hope they are kinda right.
Off to bed.

Last day of work before Spring Break.

This year, I am trying to actually get some house stuff done, and not just lie around all day. And, in case I don't get a workout in, I want to be able to look back and see what I did instead.

Tonight would be a free pass, but I did start things off on the right note by dismantling the hose bib and taking it in to the excellent, old fashion, hardware store and getting replacement parts. Leak solved.

I also took apart the power washer spray gun and put it back more correctly then the last time, so now it works.

On about 2 hours sleep, I felt like I was only creeping along, but it wasn't much slower then usual. Impaired enough by lack of sleep, I had to concentrate on getting around the posts at the trail heads, or risk impaling myself. I successfully missed them all.

Work to where the trail switches to street near Old Town, back the other way to the Humpback Bridge, and then home. Favorable wind, so I felt like I was flying at times. Weeee!!

Ride up the hill. Stood up and pumped, and it felt a little easier then recent efforts.

Mowed our lawn and then the front of the neighbors. Didn't have any desire to do the back, especially after dinner arrived. I was starving today despite an afternoon energy bar.

The lawn looks lovely!

A busy day, with a dinner guest at the end of it, so no workout today. Probably just as well since I am a little worn out and also not sleeping well, as usual.

Ride to work tomorrow hopefully.

Wacky weather, so I moved the workout indoors.

After a short warm up period, walked at 4.4 mph with 0 incline until I hit 20 minutes.

Then the following speed and incline changing every five minutes starting at 20:
