Biking 1:02:00 [2] 13.0 mi (4:46 / mi)

Ah, bliss, 30 degrees cooler then when I rode a similar route on Tuesday afternoon. And only tough headwind for the two miles going west on the way home. Wish I had gotten out a little earlier since we have a 10 AM brunch date, but I was happy to get this in.

Rode from home to Humpback Bridge and back. Stopped about 15 minutes in to offer assistance to a young woman who had tripped herself and fallen. Bloodied knees and upper lip, a bit shook up, but she seemed fine otherwise. The ever present baby wipes came in handy.

Trail was getting super crowded on the way back (around 8-8:15) making it difficult to go around runners. Glad I wasn't doing any more today since it was only going to get worse.

O Training race (Bethesda Street-O) 47:37 [2] *** 3.86 mi (12:20 / mi) +43m 11:55 / mi
shoes: NB 1064 Blue Two

Peggy, Nadim, and Max had some people over. Nadim set a Street-O from the house, and I did that while Roger enjoyed conversation with Peggy and Nadim.

After, hot dogs and carrot cake - yum! A very pleasant evening in many ways.

Trail Run (Prince William) 2:22:00 [2] 10.1 mi (14:04 / mi)
shoes: Ice Bugs - Green

A bit of a slog here and there, but I made it around the loop. Saw more people on the trails and in the stream then I have put together the last year.

Wore the Ice Bugs so I could shake out any issues (blisters, sliding around) before O season starts up again. This pair seems to fine, though I will need to wear thicker socks with them.

Miles were 1226 1223 1539 1310 1611 1655 1409 1247 1409 1243

Beautiful day in the woods. Good choice to do this today since biking would have meant dealing with the 20 MPH wind conditions.

Walking 4:00 [1] 0.25 mi (16:01 / mi)

Walk down the hill to see if Brian was home to give his GPS unit back after reviewing it to see what advice I would give on his using it more easily. Unit is a GPSMAP 76CSx, whereas he probably just needs a Forerunner, but it was a gift. Not home, so I walked back.

OK, this was a lame attempt to log something today, which I wouldn't have bothered adding if I had worked out today otherwise. But, I am back doing new student registration data entry for the high school, so I am a bit distracted, and I do not have much motivation to train when I am distracted.

Note

Finally ordered a new refrigerator. It is a LG French door unit with a two drawer bottom freezer. Passed on the ice/water dispenser in the door. For the less fastidious housekeeper (me), those tend to get kind of dirty looking.

Note

So, I am doing the camping in NH weekend after next. I fly in on Thursday, and I am staying with Lex and Pete. Since they don't get home until the evening - 7 PM or so, I was looking for an adventure.

I contacted two Maine kayak places via email and heard nothing back on my inquiries for a private coastal tour at whatever price they wanted to charge, though one of them had AOL, and I was able to determine that they got the email. So, yes, I could have called them, but after my local kayak lesson, I wasn't as vested in the Maine kayaking as I was originally. Though, I still need to go to Maine, maybe on Friday, to get a new state.

Anyway, Peter's log entry on viewing J-J hang gliding, and J-J's response that tandem HG is possible has gotten me looking in another direction for my adventure for this trip. Am I brave enough? Just a week away, so there is not too long to think about it. That is good.

Misc (The DVD) 40:00 [2]

This felt much better today. Appreciated Sandy's input yesterday and got over feeling bummed quite quickly.

Really looking forward to the cooler forecast for this weekend. Must not waste it!

Biking (Commute in) 30:00 [1] 5.6 mi (5:21 / mi)

Struggle to the last possible moment. Then after arriving at work, I was asked to help with data entry at another school building. Having ascertained yesterday that my help was not needed, thus the bike into work, I demured, felt guilty but didn't rush off on my bike on a two mile uphill. Seriously, address change rights need to be bestowed on some people in the high school offices.
3 PM

Biking (Ride home+) 58:41 [2] 11.6 mi (5:04 / mi)
shoes: Bike Sandals

Ride home via an out and back to the hump back bridge. Temps in mid 90s, arms feeling like jelly after lots of box lifting today, and I didn't feel too well when I got close to home (perhaps a first ever bonk). So, the unthinkable happened, or perhaps the fact that I didn't think much about it was why it happened...I walked up the hill(s) to the house. I had nothing in the tank. I am bummed to feel like I am back at the start box.

Walking warm up/down (Treadmill) 10:00 [1] 0.66 mi (15:09 / mi)

5 Warm up, 5 cool down

Running (Treadmill) 30:00 [2] 2.76 mi (10:52 / mi)
shoes: NB 1064 Blue Two

Shook off the Monday blahs and lots of distractions and did a workout. Yeah for me! Chest is still a bit tight but not unbearable.

Tomorrow - back on the bike since the project I needed to drive in for last week turned out to be a bust. Hate dealing with stupid administrators, but I said "yes, ma'am" in all the right places, so I get the credit.

Also, I found my checkbook today. Only looked in my computer bag around 30 times. Well, I actually felt around in it around 30 times, but today, I looked in it for another reason, and there it was.

Two distractions left.
