Biking (Bluemont & back) 1:00:00 [2] 10.5 mi (5:43 / mi)
shoes: Bike Sandals

Out onto trail a little after 9, so encountered lots of trail traffic once I got to Bluemont, but nothing too painful.

A few cute sights today - a big yellow tabby sitting smack in the middle of the trail, a big yellow lab being pulled in an open bike trailer, and a young boy and his dog being pulled in another bike trailer.

Glad to get back on the bike. No rides since July, so I just wanted to stretch my legs some before the ride to work on Tuesday. Breathing hurt initially.

The two fingers on my left hand which I smacked during a fall in Scotland are a bit painful after wards.

Sleeping lousy again, even with sleep aid. :(

Misc (The DVD) 40:00 [2]

Triumphantly :), I made it all the way through without stopping, except I couldn't do the rolling planks (sore toe).

Mowing/Yard 10:00 [0]

After work, mowed lawn and cleaned up holly cuttings and a year's worth of magnolia leaves from under the magnolia tree. About 2 hours total.

Running (Neighborhood) 30:00 [2] 2.7 mi (11:07 / mi)
shoes: Aqua Velvet

Having been given encouragement by Sandy to get at least a modest amount of exercise in this week, I figured I could run an easy 30 minutes today. Not letting the number of zero days in a row stack up on me is the key to any motivation I might have...

Anyway, this was just plain hard, hard, hard. It was only made a tiny bit bearable by the lovely weather - just about 80, low humidity. Lungs were so painful. Taking a deep breath hurt, but this got better after I stopped for about 90 seconds at the water fountain about halfway through. Lung issue was probably partially attributed to having spent several hours in my office this afternoon after the gym floor outside my office had been resurfaced. The water based product this year was not as strong as the varnish from previous years, but enough that I was wheezing. Stupid Valerie. She should know better.

So, the lungs hurt, and the legs did as well. Quads are still very sore from Sunday. The whole thing was a struggle. After the water stop, I think I looked at my watch about every 15 seconds for the next 16 minutes, until 30 minutes had passed. Then I walked home.

Encouraging, despite the whole agony thing. :)

Walking 12:40 [1] 0.75 mi (16:53 / mi)
shoes: Aqua Velvet

Walked back home.
