Trail Run (PWNF) 2:30:00 [2] 10.1 mi (14:51 / mi) shoes: New Balance 1223
Some less then ideal choices today - started out late (left the house after 8 AM), wrong shoes (road trainers instead of trail shoes), piercing pain in my foot where the lacing hits (tendon issue?), and, I am sure, there are some other things. It turned out to be my worst effort on this loop, but I made the effort, so I am happy with that. Though about calling it the kissy good-bye (for now) run, but it wasn't really worthy.
Heat was a non-issue since the humidity was lowish. It was a lonely loop, and it was hard to push myself, especially since I felt vulnerable in the shoes I was wearing. The trails actually were in excellent shape despite all of the recent rain, including another inch overnight.
Work to do still, with the question being, will I do the work?
Note
The 1 year anniversary of the O-Mobile, made more notable by the fact that I remembered this but not my wedding anniversary.
Biking (Home to Mt Vernon Trail) 2:02:00 [2] 24.0 mi (5:05 / mi) shoes: Bike Sandals
Planned on an early trail run today and a bike ride tomorrow, but I have been feeling sluggish and head aching the last couple of days, so I didn't get out of bed until almost 9 AM. After breakfast, I did some therapeutic weeding, had lunch, rested with Roger a little bit and then out at 1 PM for a bike ride. It was 80+ but mostly overcast, so it was actually pleasant enough.
Home to Mt. Vernon Trail (4 miles), and then trail through Old Town Alexandria, Belle Haven, and turned around at the stone bridge. Not too bad except for all of those stop signs and people in Old Town. Slow progress up the hill to the house put me over the 2 hour mark.
I will have to ride across the Wilson Bridge sometime now that it is open to bikes/pedestrians.
Running/Walking1:05:00 5.0 mi (13:00 / mi) shoes: New Balance 1223
Lots of things working against me for getting a run in today - two pieces of cake late at work, short nap after work, icky humidity and temp ~80 each. But, at least it was overcast.
From the house to the high school, Dinwiddie, Walter Reed to Four Mile Run Trail through the park (1 mile running 11:00), trail through the park to George Mason to Four Mile Run Road (1 mile walking 15:30), reverse mile through the park (1 mile running 9:54), and walked back up to the school (1 mile 15:20).
Since the track was right there, I decided to try a couple of Peggy's 200s, despite the 100+ high schoolers doing spring (?) football on the infield.
200 were 59, 55, 59 with about 100-120 m walking in between.
Walked the .5 mile back home after I was done for. I didn't hurl the cake, thank goodness.
OK, I didn't know about the early morning thunderstorms and heavy rain. That put the kibosh on riding into work. The oppressive afternoon humidity ruled out a workout after work. Well, the humidity and the nap.
Kudos to Peggy for getting out early this morning, even if it wasn't exactly what she had planned.

Bike ride after work. Tomorrow I will attempt to bike ride to (and from) work.
Though I have to deliver a package of subpoenaed records to the circuit court, so having the car may be better. Can I get away with taking the time to bike to and fro (about 5 miles each way)? Am I brave enough to take to the streets? Ah, and then there is the return trip - mostly uphill. Stay tuned, or not. I have decided...I will (try) bike to work, and then I will bike over and get Roger's car and drive to the cc and deliver the records. I have a plan. It may well change.
