EX2 Adventures Race Timing: Bushwacker Hemlock

Trail Run (Fountainhead) 28:30 [2] 2.0 mi (14:15 / mi)
shoes: Salomom XT Wings 10

Worked a race that ran over due to some people who left the last CP just under or at the cutoff, and who then proceeded to take an inordinate amount of time to cover the last three miles. Thought I would just pack up and head home since it was almost 1 PM, and since I said I would be home between 1 and 2, but I decided that I had to do something sometime, and I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to get some single track in.

So, out 1 mile and back (14:55 and 13:35). Temps at 75 F. Trail nice and muddy in parts, especially with the earlier traffic. Lungs struggling going out, but they were comfortable on the return trip. Blistered part of feet good, though I have a sharp pain on the top of my right forefoot.

Blood blister under left big toe has popped and has been seeping all day. Kind of grossly fascinating. Glad I wore socks to work today.

Would probably have tried a walk after work today, but the humidity was horrible, so I didn't. Easy to take another day of rest time.

Our route tracking was done with the Royaltek RGM-300 datalogger - no screen.
The RoyalTek is a good choice because it is small, and it uses two AA batteries which can be swapped out easily. The battery life is claimed to be 10 hours, so I swapped them at ~8 hours.
Besides a couple of points which had us out in the Atlantic Ocean or up in New York state, and were easily deleted in a text editor, the tracks were excellent.

Part 2 has been posted. A bit anti-climatic. :)

Two days post event:
Plenty of oozing mosquito bites on my upper arms. Little small bites, not the large spots I usually get at home.
Feet have mostly stopped seeping.
Diaper rash has mostly cleared up.
No ticks (so far, knock on wood) except the huge one I pulled out of my hair at control #33.
Legs blend into feet - swollen, no definition.
To be expected - still mostly pooped, but not so sore.
