Note

Walked around NYC with Roger. The most painful type of rogaine training possible - several miles at a very, very slow pace, with the constant concern that I was going to lose my partner. But, we managed to stay together, and it was actually a decent day with my hubby in the big city.

Walking 28:15 [2] 1.5 mi (18:50 / mi)
shoes: Salomom XT Wings 10

Up and down to the trail in the Wissahickon by Sandy's house. There is no way I can make it through an extended period of time with my family without a stress releasing workout.

Sandy was joining my husband Roger, my aunt, my mother and me for Christmas dinner, and I escaped for a short period. Thank goodness, otherwise I may have had to rung my sister's neck. ;)

Running 29:40 [3] 2.9 mi (10:14 / mi)
shoes: Salomom XT Wings 10

Once down on the drive, we started running. And man, this was a tough workout - the trail seems to go uphill the whole way out, and then it is all uphill on the return trip as well. Yes, I know this isn't possible, but that is how I felt. Sandy put a hurtin' on me on the return trip. My breathing was very labored. She told me that I could go ahead if I wanted to. I managed to gasp out that I was good, and then the next uphill came, and I put everything I had left in me to get up it without walking. I did have to walk about 1:15 of the outbound trip...

Saw this tall thin guy waving at us on the way back, and I was gasping to Sandy that these people maybe knew her. Turns out that they knew both of us since it was Alison C, father John, sister Heather, mom and pooch. Pretty neat (groan) to run into someone we knew. Waved, wished them a Merry Christmas but kept going - had to get back for dinner.

It was a good run on a lovely winter afternoon. Very happy to get something in.

Note

I added all of the events to my log which I am working and/or attending in 2009. It is somewhat scary - so many events, and it doesn't event include any Fall QOC events. I think I will be cutting back some of the race timing in 2010, even though it is income producing.

Misc (THE DVD) 40:00 [2]

Did this first tonight. Wow! It does get easier with practice!

Walking warm up/down (Treadmill) 10:00 [1] 0.6 mi (16:40 / mi)
shoes: Aqua Velvet

Five minutes on each end of the canned treadmill program.

Running (Treadmill) 30:00 [3] 2.7 mi (11:07 / mi)
weight:187lbs shoes: Aqua Velvet

One minute each at 5.4 mph flat, 5.4 mph with 6.0 incline, 5.4 mph flat, 6.4 mph flat, repeat 7.5 times.
Tough workout for me. Don't like doing the incline on the treadmill. Probably only the second time I have done any incline.
