Note
(rest day)

Spent about 90 minutes pulling weeds out of the moist earth - about 2.5" of rain over the last two days.

Running (C&O Canal/Carderock) 33:00 [2] 2.75 mi (12:00 / mi)
shoes: Saucony - Big Blue 1

Met Sarah for a run @ 7 AM. Right knee painful, left hip sore, so I took 4 Advil. Sarah gave it an excellent try, but her stomach was iffy, and then she got a stich... I think she tries to run too soon after getting up and this doesn't work for her.

Sarah and me after we were done. Note to self - suck it in!

Walking 44:00 [1] 2.75 mi (16:00 / mi)
shoes: Saucony - Big Blue 1

We walked the return trip. I took some pictures. I always wanted to make a quilt with a house reflected in water.

Lots of "wildlife" - This toad before we started, a little turtle swimming, a big snapping turtle, 2 herons - one in flight. There was rumor of a beaver swimming, but we didn't see it.

Woke up sore and stiff from yesterday, so decided today was a good day to take off, especially since I am running with Sarah in the morning.

Running race 17:03 [4] 3.2 km (5:20 / km)
shoes: Saucony - Big Blue 1

Got up with the alarm today and piddled around getting ready & looking at Vadim's pictures from the RAAM finish line. Grabbed my running shoes, just in case, but then decided to check my email account that Boot Camp sends messages to. Damn, a Fitness Test for today - the second this month - which is how it is supposed to be, but hasn't been...

I knew I didn't have it today. Last time, I thought I didn't have it but did. Today, I knew I didn't have it and didn't. Got smoked by Christine, who has improved greatly since April and finished in 1515. The rest of the faster runners were out of town, or skipped on purpose.

Hung on and didn't quit when I really wanted to.

Running (W&OD) 38:00 [3] 4.0 mi (9:30 / mi)
slept:6.0 shoes: Saucony 7 - Banana 1

Woke up late again. Got there just on time to find out that only Teresa was there - ugh! already grumpy since I had overslept, and didn't need that as well.
She half assed warmed us up for 10 minutes and then we were to run out 15' & back for a total of 30'. Couldn't stand the thought of listening to her anymore, so waved her off when we were called to turn aaround and went a mile total further. I hate feeling like I am disrespecting Teresa, but she really irritates me. We have been told that she is here only this month and then will go to her own site. Hopefully, that is the truth, and her own site isn't our site...
Anyway, the splits were
(out) 459 444 459 450
(back) 442 437 432 431
the last two miles were the best because I was warmed up by then & breathing well. I wish I could have kept going, but I am donating blood this morning and had to get back.

Note

Blood count was too low to donate this morning. The first time in 30 years that this has happened. Just as well since the RC was horribly inefficient. At the rate they were going, it was going to take 2+ hours to donate blood. And to make it worse, they had rap type music on at an overly high volumn.
Yes, I know I was grumpy this morning, but the music and the wait were a bit much even if I had been my "normal" "sunny" self. :)

Misc 30:00 [2]
slept:5.0 shoes: Saucony 7 - Banana 2

About 30 minutes of BC and then a run. Lots of JJ, Mountain Climbers, jumping rope.

Running 18:00 [2] 1.75 mi (10:17 / mi)
shoes: Saucony 7 - Banana 2

Ran near the end of class - was supposed to be around 25, but they turned around sooner. Just as well, since I needed to leave a little early.

Misc 34:00 [2]
slept:6.0 weight:180lbs shoes: Saucony 7 - Banana 1

A weekend of too much food and wine, and too little sleep, caught up with me this morning. Butt was dragging during the run. Also wheezing. So, I was at the tail end of the group again.
Other stuff was arm related.

Running 26:00 [2] 2.6 mi (10:00 / mi)
shoes: Saucony 7 - Banana 1

Run was the loop from BC, to school, to Walter Reed, and back. As I said above, I was dragging & wheezing...
