Got to the meet site early to get a course in - the first 3 controls weren't out yet. This kind of surprised me, and so I checked the adjacent ditches before deciding that the streamer was my control location. Took a 2 minute time credit for this - fairly easy when you are the EP guru. :)
The furthest area on the course were the worst controls. Had a 20 minute error on #8. Michael W did not find it at all after 30 minutes. A review of my GPS route shows that I was within feet of it my first time through, but I did not see it in the thicket.
On #7, the area was very grassy & stalky and the control was just along the edge of the water. Got stung by stinging nettles for the first time along here.
Warm day even at 8:30 am. Enjoyed the course and felt like I did very well except for 7 & 8 & 2 - which was totally my own fault - no time credit for that one. :)
Actual distance covered was 8 miles!

With most of the usual control picker uppers up in NH, I went out and snagged 9 controls. Mostly walked. Right achilles a bit stiff/sore.

Run around the field and trails behind school. Lots of walking - legs feeling a bit dead. Did some pickups at the end.

Football game at the track, so I headed to Bluemont Park & back. Some walking. Some of the halves: 429 508 & 502 (w/ walking) 428 436 430.
Must have been going too fast because my breathing felt iffy throughout. Proud to have hung in there.

Met Nancy at 5:45 for a run. Nice cool, crisp morning. Easy at first, but picked it up a little through the park. Walked parts here and there.
