W/ Carolyn ran all around PWNF. Comfortable day and no rain. Right ankle jammed at one point and a bit tight after that. But otherwise felt good. Breathing good - helps to start downhill. :)

Cool morning and windier than I thought it was. Loop around park is 6/10 mile minus 10 yards. Ran it 10 times and added 3/10 more to make 6.2 miles. Wind either in face or from the side the entire time. Ran hard up the hill 9 out of 10 times. Felt really good. Splits were 6:06 5:45 6:07 5:51 5:51 5:52 6:06 5:48 5:44 5:48
Signed up yesterday to do the Capon Valley 50k on May 17. This put me out of my misery about whether I could accomplish the Billy Goat or not. Maybe next year. Now I only have to worry about whether I can finish 50k in 8 hours. :)
Ran from house on Four Mile Run Trail out to Bluemont and then back on the W&OD Trail (both paved). Felt horrible going out - struggled with breathing...and walked about 10 minues or so. Out on the hillier trail in 37:27. Coming back was better - flatter and downhill (32:33). Half mile splits on W&OD were 4:49 4:45 4:42 4:36. Head draining like crazy.
